It may be similar to this, as I one day randomly had the top back left side of my htorat feel like therre was a lump there. It was sore but worse when I swallowed. I went to the chiropractor (very good guy, no worries) and he put his gloved hand in my mouth, pressed on a spot, and it felt better. Turns out it was something like a swollen gland or something but this sounds likely. Or other things. Mom said he has done that to her when she has a sore throat and she said it worked too.

I have somewhat similar issue. Just above my adams apple right side just below my chin I've had a pin for over 2 weeks. Sometimes I feel it when I swallow, sometimes I don't, but its always tender to the touch. I can't feel anything abnormal. Ive had swollen lymph nodes before usually about the size of a pea and tender but i don't feel anything like that. No noticeable knot that I can tell. Just tender. Has not gotten any worse, but hasn't gotten any better either. Seems to bother me more in the mornings.

I have the same pain in my throat but I can like reach back and touch exactly where it hurts. It hurts worse at night and in the morning. It's very painful to swallow. It's like on my left, sometimes my right, but at this moment it's the left. I often have to hack up mucus, but that's only when I'm around ,y fiancé who smokes. It's been like this for days, and it doesn't hurt to talk or anything, but yawning hurts too. Like, it's just to the maiden of my throat. I touch both sides, but only one hurts really bad and is swollen. It doesn't hurt from the outside though,,, what is this?!?! Please help...

This may be Eagle Syndrome, caused by an elongated calcified stylohyoid ligament that is piercing the back of the throat. A CT scan will confirm this. The only treatment is surgery.
