Hello,
I'm basically here as a last resort, because I don't know what to do anymore. I'm attending university, and I've been managing to attend most of my classes and along with resting, but I'm getting concerned; I'm not getting better, and I'm afraid this is going to start affecting my performance in school.
I've been sick for a little over two weeks now. It started off with a fever ranging from 100-101 consistently (for the first week) accompanied by swollen glands. I have insurance through the school, which allows for me to go to the clinic on campus and a select few outside doctors. When I went to the clinic after being sick for about 6 days, they weren't sure what I had, so they sent me to an outside doctor. The doctor prescribed me a ten day course of antibiotics.
I thought this was the end of me being sick, as I seemed to improve for a day or two. Problem is, I wasn't better. Everything got worse. Right now, I have swollen glands (right below my jaw, on the back of my neck, and by my ears), a VERY sore throat (it's painful to consume food or liquids, and I haven't been eating much as a result), discolored mucus ranging from a dark green to a lighter greenish-yellow, and today I noticed what appears to be a white spot in the back of my throat on the right. I can't get a good enough look to see if it's just one or several. I no longer have a fever, and, in fact, I had a sub-normal temperature today (97.1).
I'm not sure what to do, or who to turn to. I have a day left of the antibiotics, but they don't seem like they helped. I fear that going to the clinic here won't do me much good, and I want some answers about why I am still sick. All I know is that I want to get better so that I can return to doing normal activities outside of the classroom.
Any advice is very welcomed.
Its probably mono that you have you need to go to the doctors and make them test you for mono or strep.
