Glad I found this site. I wake up with a jolt once or twice a week at around 2am feeling like I am having a spasm in my lower throat chest area. Sometimes I have to catch my breath too. Of course I start to get anxiety after this and sit on the edge of the bed wondering half dazed what just happened. I can usually go back to sleep after calming down. I am on Lexapro and Nexium. So after reading up on both found that there could be a drug interaction between the two. I don't know for sure if this is causing it but will see the Dr this week about it. I have a mild cough that kicks in when I lay down in bed before sleeping. I also have post nasal drip. I am sure the combination of all of this is causing this sleep disturbance. I have to clear my throat a lot during the day. I'm 63 , male, otherwise heathy, never smoked, drink very little workout 3x a week and don't do drugs other than the two above. I could be waking up with a mild panic attack but the spasm part isn't anxiety. I live a low stress life right now. Anybody have any answers for me?

1.Quality multi vitamin
2. Co Q 10, tons of healthy heart protective benefits.
3. Omega 3, good for depression/ anxiety
4. Walking, daily if possible
5. Acupuncture or other more holistic Dr that will look at root cause of problems
6. Magnesium oil spray (will make skin itch but I spray on arms before bed)
Look for quality products that you can afford, many health food stores have people that have worked there for many years and can help you make selections, don't be afraid to ask. God Bless.
