Few days ago my period finished and bleeding stopped. It was everything so normal, but then I have noticed some spotting bleeding. That made me worries what could it be? I have never had such problems but my boyfriend told me that maybe I am pregnant. I would like to know if that is true, does spotting after period means I am pregnant?
Usually bleeding lighter then normal menstrual which happen before a period should be sign that woman is pregnant. You didn’t specify exact date of your period and date when that spotting bleeding occurs. I am afraid I can’t tell you exactly what is going on because when I became pregnant I had so called implantation bleeding round 7 days before I should get my period. If you doubt of after period bleeding was because you become pregnant, the best way is to make a test or visit your gynecologist. He will check if you are pregnant, or maybe that is just menstrual blood which didn’t go out on time. Off course, I am afraid to say, but reasons for after period bleeding are different. There are some diseases of women’s genital system that could help appearing of the blood. I have heard some ovarian cysts that are painless also may cause spotting. Each woman can get one or few each year but most of them can go unnoticed and pop during a menstrual period. Also bruising of the cervix caused by deep penetration during sex can cause bleeding.
Spotting blood after your period finishes doesn't mean you are pregnant — if you'd been pregnant, you might have spotted just before your period was expected, or you may have had some light spotting instead of a period (early pregnancy spotting). In this case, it might be a hormonal imbalance. I heard that spotting blood between periods is always a reason to see your doctor because it could indicate something (not necessarily something bad) is wrong, so make an appointment if you can. It's always better to be safe than sorry, and if you have some infection, it needs treating sooner rather than later.
I'm having spotting after my periods completly over. What does that mean?
Well, it all depends upon how long after your period the spotting occurred. Sometimes it is normal to have spotting after periods and it doesn’t have to mean that you shouldn’t be alarmed.
If you started getting periods some months/up to a year ago, then your cycle could not be regular yet and you may experience such spotting.
If you started taking birth control pills recently, your body may not be used to the higher hormonal levels and you could be experiencing the spotting any time during your cycle.
Also, some women have spotting around their ovulation, which occurs usually 15 days prior to your next period. Women who have problems with the cysts on ovaries, could be experiencing spotting.
Depending on your age, you could have developed any of the benign growths on the cervix or uterus that may cause spotting. They usually appear in women in child bearing age. Cervical inflammation could cause spotting.
There are many things that could have caused the spotting but it is really hard to say because you provided very few details about the timing, amount of spotting, color of the discharge, additional symptoms, etc
Maybe you should have yourself checked or wait for another period and see if it repeats. Hope not! Good luck!

hello2828. When your girlfriend said that the discharge was thick, was it stretchy? A stretchy discharge and some spotting are common around ovulation, and she is in the right time frame for this

i doubt you are pregnant since your boyfriend never ejaculated inside of you!The bleeding you expereinced could have been from hard penetration or maybe caused by something transient! But to pur your mind at ease, you could have done a pregnancy test and see what it shows. If you are not pregnant and you continue experiencing the bleeding, then it would be wise to see a doc!

Hi! I suppose you found yourself in an awkward and not so pleasant situation. I can understand how you must be feeling. To be honest, there could be a couple of reasons for this contradictory.
First of the reason could be that you tested false positive, meaning that the test showed you were pregnant when you were not. In that case, you should call them and ask for your money back.
Another reason is that you got pregnant and had an early miscarriage. Miscarriage blood is usually very light red and you may get cramps as well. When you have an early miscarriage, there still may be some levels of hcg hormone present. This hormone is made by the placenta when you get pregnant and is used by both urine and blood tests for checking pregnancy.
Third option is that you did get pregnant and that the period you experienced was just some residual blood from your previous period that got out.
In case you were taking any medications with hcg hormones (for restoring fertility), they could have caused the test to show false positive.
I reckon you should see a gynecologist and have a blood test done. Blood tests measure both presence and quantity of hcg levels, meaning that the blood tests is more accurate.

If there was no semen in or around your vagina then it is very unlikely that you would get pregnant. If you are late for your period you could take a home pregnancy test to make sure
Hi, I have a question, I had taken depo for 6 months and had continued to get my period. However, when i went off of it I stopped getting my period for another 6 months. Finially last month i got my period. That was the 19th of may then on June 1st my husband and i had unprotected sex. the next day i had light cramping and some pinkish spotting but only for the day. then just reciently about the 11th of june i started spotting some brownish discharge and that lasted about 2 1/2 days. I have now stopped spotting and i was wondering if this is a sign im pregnant. I did take a home pregnancy test thismorning and it was negative, my next period should be in a couple days so shouldnt i have gotten a positive if i were pregnant. and if im not pregnant what could be causing the spotting.
Having sex without a condom is even better way of getting pregnant. Because he can ejaculate some without even knowing, no matter what men say. This is how I got pregnant once. Ask your GYN and he/she will confirm. My husband and I weren't even really trying to have a kid, and just kept having sex without using condoms. He didn't ejaculate in me just to see if I could still get pregnant, and did. We're happy to have our baby but this is just to warn you. So I hope this scares you into getting protection. Unless you want to have a baby at a young age and unmarried you better stay protected, because you can get diseases too that way. Men will say anything to have sex even lie about pre-ejaculation.
Hope this helps.
