Katie, I wish I had some advice for you. In the past three months I have suffered with urethra pain, at one point while out shopping I began to experience sharp stabbing pains in my lower back and abdomen. I was tested and sure enough I had a very bad bladder infection which had spread to my kidney. The bladder infection seem to clear up, but the pain in the urethra still continues with stabbing pains on and off in the bladder area. I'm off to another doctor tomorrow to check for another Urinary infection. Then I guess my neck step would be to a Urologist. I can't bevel how many of us are suffering from this awful affliction. It's nice to know we are not alone and when I get some good information to share I will post.

About every other day, I experience the same thing - painful burning urination that is worse when I am through, feeling the need to go again, cramps in the bladder and some back pain.  I think it is all caused by cafeen (coffee and tea) or other acidic beverages and food.  What seems to help is drinking lots of water, cutting way down on tea.  It also helps to flush the area with water right after urination.  What I did was empty and rinse an disposable enema bottle, filled it with water and hosed the whole urethra and attached areas down.  Every time I "go", I refill the bottle and hose down again.  The water washes away the burn and I can wait longer to go again.  This and lots of water can clear up the problem it about 2-6 hours.  If the pain continues for more than a day, its worth going to the doctor to make sure you don't have a bladder infection or other condition.
For more information on the effects of cafeen on bladder health, google painful urination and cafeen.  I hope this helps some of you.  It was my doctor who first told me of the possibility of cafeen and painful urination, after I tested negative for a urinary tract infection.

You probably have a urinary tract infection or yeast infection, you need to tell your mom because if it is a urinary infection it can travel to your kidneys, and if yeast they have over the counter med. for that. To make sure you dont get urinary infection always wipe from the front to the back. You dont want to get fecal matter in your vulva area. If you wear thong underwear, they are finding it causes infections because the string part rubs on your rectum then will slid up and rub on your private area.

I found this while looking up my own symptoms. I feel like it fits but there isn't a treatment hardly or a solution. :( I just try to relax my body and rest and drink lots of water and eat no sugar and that usually makes me feel better in a day or two.

I have the same thing and I feel so terrible for everyone whose had it such a long time, I'm only on about a month at the moment. The pain is constant and stabbing, my partner and I can't have sex or when we do it's incredibly painful afterwards. I've been on three times of antibiotics, no UTI and no STD, it's so upsetting and it's getting me down. Often anxiety has been suggested as the cause but it's a very real pain and it stops me being able to concentrate on anything else. If anyone has any break through with it please remember to come back and let us know. It's making me miserable.

See your gyno to see if anything has prolapsed, uterius, bladder, rectum
all three of mine did and I thought I was going to die. I went to a urologist first and he couldnt find anything so I went to my Gyno and he said all three were prolapsed and i would need surgery but he had me do certain exercises to tighten my muscle first and it has taken about 8 months of doing them and I feel alot better.

I see a great nurse practitioner at Johns Hopkins that I traveled from out of state to see who has my pain (very similar to your daughters) very well managed. If you look in the obgyn department her name is Rogers and she is i think the only one who specializes in vaginal pain disorders.

I am sixteen and have the same issue. It hurts as I finish peeing and I feel like I need to pee again after. It started two days ago. But I am also peeing more frequently, alot at night. About ten minutes after it will go away, but it hurts before too. %-)  Could it be a kidney stone? I sincerely hope not!! Thanks for the help, and knowledge that I'm not the only one with this issue.:-)

See if your doctor will check for a kidney stone. I know when I have kidney stones I have a pain and it burns to urinate. Good luck!

Have her gyn check for vulvar vestibulitis. Sounds like the symptoms, but it isn't very common and is usually unknown to or overlooked by general docs.

I have a question anybody reading this, have you ever had a lower back injury or a tailbone injury?

I get the exact same symptoms,I have twice in the past had injury to both my back & tailbone!

It is possible that nerve damage is the culprit but getting a DR. to address this possibility has turned out to be beyond their thinking!
