This will help. I just had my surgery 3 days ago and I am in no hurry to reintroduce solid foods. Slow and steady wins the race.

I had my laprascopic gallbladder surgery sept 3rd 2014, I had a very flat skinny stomach before, after I HD the surgery my bloating on my Right side of my abdomen is like I'm 7 months pregnant, I'm constipated, I gained weight, I had an ultrasound to drain it but they said they couldn't because their was not a place to drain that it was swollen all over bad the whole side. Every Dr who sees it is shocked but reccomended me get a upper laprascopy and lower colonoscopy, but the prep I'd HV to do would put me in danger because I'm on 225mg of thyroid hormone meds, calcium because all 4 of my parathyroids were damaged during the removal of my thyroid, I'm also on calcitrol to help absorb the calcium, & pain meds. So is their any test they can do besides a colonoscopy to see if something in my stomach is twisted, torn, or not hooked back up properly after the gallbladder surgery?? The same surgeon did my thyroid removal & my gallbladder removal the same day same surgery. Theirs less then a %5 chance to have all 4 of your parathyroids damaged during removal of your thyroid, yet my surgeon managed to do just that & also did my gallbladder surgery, could he have messed up something with my gallbladder removal?? I also have blood in my stool almost everytime bright red, and I'm always constipated. If anyone has any ideas to what could be going on and what tests I could take to show my inside of my abdomen pls contact me

ty & God Bless.

I had my gallbladder removed last Friday and I'm feeling better but I bloat pretty bad regardless avoiding foods on the do not eat list. Im 51 years old and 50lbs overweight already. Small portions and small drinks continue to make my tummy huge, tight and uncomfortable. I returned to work 3 days after surgery with minimal pain just the bloating! Ugh! Dr.told me to walk but no exercise yet. Walking seems to help so that's what I'll keep doing. Good luck everyone.

I was really worry when six months now after my surgery for gall bladder removal I suddenly noticed my stomach bloating and was so worried I thought something must have burst and was seeping into my abdomen now I am a bit relieved to see how common this problem is. But I did notice something I haven't been emitting gas as frequently as the month after surgery since constipation set in so I think there's a connection between the bloating and the gas which I think gets trapped by the unabsorbed oil building up in the gut. So I think not pooping out the gas might be the root of the problem thanks to all for the posts....what a relief its just to get this flaming gas out

I had my gallbladder removed 5 mths ago. I have swelling in my stomach & it's really hard. I have pain also in my stomach also. When I sit down I have pain that shoots up my bottom across my lower abdomen & it hurts to even walk sometimes. I have gone to emerge & they can't find out what's wrong. I really look like I am 7or 8 mths pregnant. I'm extremely depressed & of course my clothes don't even fit me.

Glad I found this sight. I had mine done about 3 months ago. (Dec.2015) I am not a very big person so it is extremely noticeable, I too look pregnant especially towards the end of the day. It is very uncomfortable and didn't know what to think so have been researching and found this. Great posts and thanks for sharing. I seem to feel worse after red meat. I hope this goes away soon and wish you all the best.

The main thing that I have a problem with is the nausea factor. I can tolerate anything but that. Does the nausea go away or am I cursed with it forever, I know that my diet will never be the same but if I have no diarrhea, vomiting or nausea then it will be worth it. I am only 71 years old and would like to have a few peaceful years. Can anyone comment?

Also a year for me. Sometimes I can eat chili dogs, fries, lasagna... Then ONE scrambled egg will make me sick for a week. Currently so bloated and constipated, three days now. Almost can't drink water, I feel so stuffed but have had only hot tea and water and broth sips for two days. Feel like I'm going to burst!
