Have had it for years and years. Used Tums for a long time only then to get kidney stones. German friend introduced me to Fennel Tea. I take it right after breakfast, lunch or dinner. It has helped. I prefer this as well as controlling what I eat. Especially when I am stressed and little excercise, it increases the chances to occur. Need to help the digestion to go down.

I have had the same things going on for years. Had my gall bladder removed and now it is even worse! I have had ultrasounds, bloodwork, ct scans and NOTHING shows up. The pain is so bad. It feels like someone is trying to push their way out of my upper stomach. I cant sleep. I cant eat and can barely drink anything. I have been in constant pain for 3 days straight. I have tried every acid reducer out there and NOTHING works at all. I have been to the ER 4 times this year and they look at me like I am crazy because they cant find anything. I am 42 and it gets worse all the time. It gets so bad that I vomit a few times, but doesnt ease the pain at all. If anyone knows of anything that works to ease the pain, discomfort and agony, PLEASE let me know. I am miserable and honestly, would not wish this on my worst enemy. This is horrible!

I have had ALL of the same problems and symptoms. Been seen by multiple drs in multiple states. One of my many visits to the ER I had an awful reaction to morphine. Pain so bad in my stomach I would have rather birthed one of my children. Since then that similar pain rears it's head. Well I've now had it continuous going on day 3. It's this awful pressure in my upper stomach that takes my breath away. I don't have a gallbladder and yes every test you can possibly imagine. I really want to be seen again at the ER but every time nothing is found. I can sympathize with every single person who has posted. I used to just wake up and the pain be there and I would take a gas x and the pressure would subdue after 30 minutes. Now I'm feeling it all day and tonight of course can't get comfortable to sleep. This is extremely frustrating. Anyone ever get any solid answers??

Did you ever learn what was causing the pain at the top of your stomach? Thanks!

I realize your symptoms are far worse than mine but you could be suffering from a Helicobacter Pylori infection. They have simple tests to check... That being said, the dual antibiotics and PPI wasn't pleasant and I'm still feeling stomach pressure a week after the meds. Still hoping for resolution once I can equalize the damage done by the bacteria, antibiotics and the Omeprazole. The Doc checked me for everything else and at the last minute, as she was walking out the door, asked if I had ever been tested for H. Pylori. Turns out that I tested positive and she suspected it could have gotten out of control and caused my other symptoms (GERD, throat tightening, throat tightening, pain in stomach area). H Pylori is somewhat frightening (symptomatically) in those who show clinical signs and it is easily overlooked.

hope you all find your cures.

Peace.

Don't know if you guys will see this as this was from a year ago, but I have gone Gluten Free now for a year and am pregnant and feel the same way like there is a golf ball stuck at the bottom of my esophagus/top of my stomach...or as if someone just roughly gave me the heimlich maneuver or something. I wish I could throw up to relieve it but I don't have to, I just feel like I should. Very annoying. I realized I had been eating a few new items that I thought were GF, but are not. So I'm not sure if it's the pregnancy or the Gluten sneaking back into my diet. If you WERE diagnosed with IBS or Crohns disease...no worries. Good friends have reversed that and all it's symptoms within 3 months of knocking gluten out of their diet...try it for 3 months and see if it helps if you see this! Good luck!
