I have the same symptoms and in my case they could be caused of golf swing practicing with an accent at the keeping the spine straight. I keep the head and neck in a straight position and the front neck is twisted in a strange way. This is what I have noticed. I hope it is helpful.

I have something a bit similar. The muscles of my neck hurt a bit left of my adams apple. It doesn't hurt to swallow, but it does feel raw when I breathe and is sometimes sharply painful when I yawn. With a family history of cancer and diabetes, I am afraid to go to my doctor. I want answers but am scared of hearing more than I want to.

This is disturbing. Every little symptom that I seem to have that has bothered me for a long period of time, has Only like one web page & its Always full of ppl with the same issue and no one including doctors nor specialists know what it is. And I found this page looking for what the pain deep in the left side of my neck could be. Thats just crazy. I guess Im just a walking medical mystery.

Wish I could email with you. I'm thinking this is my problem. I live close to Philly and am wondering who your doctor was, and if you've found any way to follow up. Thank you to you and everyone here. These posts are very helpful.

I have the exact same thing. When I read you mention the "clicking or popping" when I swallowing I immediately knew we have the exact same symptoms. Did anyone find out what the cause of this is?

Hey same symptoms and mine all started after doing heavy squat cleans in which I accidentally caught my throat with the bar.

Same symptoms, same tests, plus lots more tests. This has been going on for over six months now. I had a very good ent tell me he sees this about 4 times a year and it's called Carotidynia. Look it up and see if symptoms are the same as yours. I have soft tissue swelling that comes and goes only on the left side, clicking when I swallow is supposed to be from hyoid bone because of swelling. Is stress related and will flare up from time to time. Basically they have no idea why it exists or what to do for it other than Advil or steroids. If anyone finds out more info, please let me know.

I have exactly those symptoms. It's not a sore throat but when I bend over, it becomes more sore. I felt a tremendous amount of stress and that seemed to bring this on. It's as if all my muscles became tight from tension and this is the area I can't deal with. If I take too deep a breath, it will induce a cough.
