I posted a reply the other day stating that my help practitioner thought it was a symptom of candida. Today, in desparation, I tried a Dr. Andrew Weil treatment for Bacterial Vaginosis of 1 teaspoon tea tree oil to 2 cups warm water to the labia and it really worked. I am not, some hours later, free of the itching and tingling sensations. The tea tree oil is strong so be careful. You can find his comment on his (very helpful) website

I have been recently experiencing an odd tingling sensation at the top of my clitoris similar to the beginnings of an orgasm. I can feel the same weakness in my legs and the sort of 'lightness' feeling you get all over.
It's the type of tingling that if you climax during masturbation would afterwards go away but it isn't! No matter what I do - baths, creams & even touching myself - it just will not go away. It's extremely irritating as I find it hard to concentrate & also relaxing in order to sleep is tricky.
I am not on my period and I am a virgin so it's not something caused by somebody else.
Its been happening for the last few days and I'm at a complete loss at what to do. All I know is is that isn't normal or I imagine very common....
Please help?!?
I think its possibly from masturbating alot. It happens to me randomly maybe 3x a month. Looks like everyone mentioned masturbating so I could be some sort of "after-shock" after climaxing.
what nonsense...I have been researching it, since seeing a urogynocologist...it is known as Persistent Sexual Arousal Disorder, being studied mostly in Holland (no surprise, since US only studies things that make a profit). It is usually caused by dorsal root nerve injury from surgery or injury to the perineum..if I am allowed to do so, I would be glad to post a link to the support site, if anyone is interested...if you are desperate, please know that you are not alone...btw, the reason ppl are "mentioning masturbating" is that, they are desperately hoping that an orgasm will stop the horrifyingly constant sensations....get a clueno need to tell me to "get a clue".. I'm just saying...what I think ..chill out.
You chill out. You make implications that this is not a real disorder...it is not a matter of "opinion"...any more than there is legitimate and illegitimate rape....if someone is just "masturbating too much", then they just need to stop, right? Well, it is nothing like that
Exactly the way i am feeling as I googled this.. how is it cureable? it is very very irritating..
I am 23 and I have been suffering the same symptoms on and off since I was a kid. I've had multiple Dr. try to treat me for UTI's which it isn't. I am currently taking Deptran to treat the symptoms as the side effect of this drug seems to relieve the tingling. The only problem with this is the Deptran makes me very drowsy making it difficult to do every day things. I am considering going to a gynacologyst because the Deptran seems to be taking care of the symptoms but not getting to the bottom of what the problem is. It is a relief to know I am not the only one, as this isn't an issue I feel comfortable sharing with people.
to help you guys out look around your vagina if you see a purple discharge kinda in your vagina its whats causing this its a type of track infection....
OMG !!! im so glad im not alone in this ! its so horrifying !!! im so drained this morning cause i didnt get any sleep what so over due to this ichyness !!!! i even wanted to screem my lungs out cause it just wouldnt go away and its quite funny that it only occurs in the evenings. im so irrated and annoyed by it, this is my first time ever experiencing this irritation and i cant help but scratch and the more i scratch the more swollen my clit gets! i've been experiencing this for the past 2 days! a cold cloth really helps but its only temporary, im going to the doc today to see what he can give me,
i tried applying baby bum cream (FISSAN AND PASTE), and it really helped. and apparantely drinking alot of water will help ease it.

Can someone please help me I'm 17 i don't wanna say anything to my mom. But my clots been throbbing for 2 days i haven't slept i went out before and i was fine because i was occupied i guess but at night before sleep it drives me crazy masturbating dosent work I'm seriously going crazy i haven't slept and it won't stop I'm starting to worry I'm crying bec I'm so tired please help me
I've noticed that it disappears fairly quickly, all things considered. For me, it doesn't necessarily take rough activity even - sometimes it's just inactivity for a long amount of time that'll do it. Seems like a few days to a week (if it's bad) before it heals. I would say though, definitely LET IT HEAL. If you continue to aggravate it, then it won't heal. :)
Hi all,
Thank goodness for this forum! Last week, I woke up at 4am with intense pain in my groin, specifically around my clitoris. I started panicking, because I didn't know what was happening. The sensation wasn't painful at first -- but it was intense. It left like the kind of tingly, aching sensation right after a climax, or sort of like being constantly "turned on" like other people described. It also felt like I constantly needed to pee. Sitting, standing, lying down were all uncomfortable. I felt like gravity was pulling on my groin.
Eventually I discovered that the sensation was most intense during and after urination. The aching, throbbing discomfort gradually became downright pain, so I took some ibuprofen, which took care of the sensation for about 5 hours at a time. I finally went to the Emergency Room, and after 2 hours of waiting was told I had a UTI (urinary tract infection, also called a bladder infection). A doctor gave me some antibiotics to take, twice a day for 5 days, and told me I might still need painkillers for the first few days.
I'm now finished with my antibiotic course, and I'm pain-free, ache-free, and UTI-free! So, there's hope! Good luck, all!!!
