It can be from the 'wetness' of the vagina combined with hormones and urine. When you wee make sure to wipe more than twice and to rinse over with clean water and towel dry. Because urine/sweat and vaginal discharge combined in a warm crevice leads to smelling. Also remember to wipe your bottom with toilet paper, baby wipes and give your bum a rinse after using the toilet. The lubrication which is made when aroused often carries a strong scent. Your vagina smell and taste will always mimic what you eat too! Avoid strong smelling foods as well as too many carbohydrates and unhealthy things for consumption. As long as your cleaning your genitals after messying them (being aroused, going to the loo etc.) you should be fine. And drink plenty of water!
Wow!! Well at least I'm not alone! I, too, have a plastic smell emitted from my vagina, and after I pee, the smell remains around the toilet, it's almost sour? I am very clean, I shower twice a day usually and still have the smell, the plastic smell is almost toxic smelling? Weird! I had a hysterectomy 7 years ago, I have one ovary, and this has been going on for over a year. This website is meant to help us figure out what it is, so does ANYONE know?!
????? Any outcomes

If there are no sti's than it can only be one of two things, too much yeast or too little yeast (bacterial vaginosis). If it's too much yeast take an over the counter antifungal like diflucan and see if it goes away. If it goes away that's what it was, if it doesn't it will probably get worse which means you don't have enough yeast. Take a probiotic yeast called d. Boulgarii. Also change your diet. Too much sugar and carbs will cause a yeast infection, too little carbs will cause vaginosis. Best of luck everyone.
Probably shouldn't be using vaginal cleaning products daily...this will only worsen your problems.
This is incorrect information. There are a variety of other things it can be besides bv or yeast. Hormonal imbalances; too little water intake; diet; overweight; urine leakage; natural changes within menstrual cycle; women not understanding what a normal vagina smells like; overuse of vaginal douches and cleaning products....
I too have been suffering for 7 months now. Tests all negative. I had my last period 5 yrs ago and not had intercourse with my husband (or anyone) for good few months as embarrassed by old dried Blood odour. no discharge or pain or any other symptoms but this awful smel
Thank you very much

Having read all of the responses and your issue and question, I think I may have a good idea of what is happening with our lady part. Bacterial Vaginosis. I suffer from this regularly and I get a very strong odd smell that gets worse after sex or with physical activities that cause me to sweat. I tried all the dr's meds with only short relief only to find it back and as annoying as ever quite quickly. I have done lots of research and what works for me is a daily douche of water (bottle or tap) and about 1/2 to 1 oz of peroxide once a day for 7 days (best before a bath and can be repeated up to 3 x's a day I do it after sex). I also take a garlic supplement. It stops the odor and if it comes back after a week repeat the process. It won't hurt you. Plain white vinegar and water is actually damaging to the ph balance of the flora in your vagina. Our vagina is a self sustaining, self cleaning system. If the ph is thrown off at all it becomes infected. Apple Cider vinegar will not hurt the balance. Tea Tree oil, yogurt, peroxide, garlic...these are all things that are safe and natural used to treat bv at home in private. I hope this helps. Good luck ladies!
Past boyfriend bad? That could be your problem! I had a bad boy and even though he's gone I've never smelled the same (he was a sex addict) I didn't know!!!
