You described exactly what I've been going through. It's gotten slowly worse over time and I am down to 1mg a day, when i am active and distracted i dont notice it but the last couple months every morning right when the suboxone kicks in I start having the breathing troubles all day pretty much. Vaporizing cannabis oil helps a little bit, I thought it was from smoking but I've quit for 4 months now and its still happening so I know it has to be a side effect of the suboxone, thank God I found this thread. Have you tapered off and if so has it gotten better for you? I just want my health and life back! I'm only 25 and feel like I have COPD :(

I have been trying this while on Suboxone. I have had so many issues while on it all around breathing. It was given to me at a high dose as it was tried for pain management. It started affecting my breathing and not helping with pain. Reading that last post I am scared coming off of it. I will get through it. Has anyone else had a problem with breathing while on Suboxone. Keep in my I have a neck injury and spinal stenosis.

Any advice on plowing through it. I find I am a little confused with the anxiety and shortness of breath. I am going to start tapering off and go back to my regular pain meds.

Yes, but I am on a much higher level as my doctor was using it as a pain medication. I think I always had the breathing issues though. I am at 24 mg per day and I am starting a taper because of the breathing tomorrow. I will go back to slightly different level of my pain meds I was on before this.

My doctor said the same. I did not agree and it got worse. I am going back to my regular pain meds as I was on a high level for pain use with my Suboxone.

Can Suboxone be taken if you have emphysema and COPD exacerbation? Trying to get all the facts of different detox theories before suggesting one to doctor.

The EXACT same thing is happening to me-I tapered over a three month period and as of my last dose OVER A 5 weeks ago, I cannot seem to breathe normally. Pretty scary. I know it’s not Covid cause I have no other symptoms-Also, a two weeks after quitting, I took 1/4 strip to see what would happen & breathing returned to normal but JUST FOR THAT DAY! I’m scared to even mention to doctor cause of all this Covid BS. I refuse to take a Covid test.

Please reply if you get this ..I've been on saboxen for a year and a half and now whenever I lay down to sleep I'll almost get to sleep then wake up instantly like I can't breathe like I stopped breathing Everytime so I have to lay on my side to sleep I've never had this problem in my life but things have started I never had issues with before until I started taking it I felt better on regular drugs ...if not for the withdrawal it would be better ...I'm on subutex now nothing's changed but it's better than. Needles and heroin ...still did you have the issue of losing breath when you laid down

I can tell you that I've had similar problems with Suboxone. Everyone and everybody telling me what happened is an anxiety attack and me trying to explain to doctors that isn't the case. I was on 12 mg for 3 years, never had any major issues other than headaches and constipation. Starting last year I started to feel what I can only describe as possibly life threatening about an hour after dosing. Feeling like something is pressing in on the esophagus, breathing no longer automatic but something you might stop doing, heart pounding like I just sprinted around a track, and breathing control doesn't help. I had to drop off to 1-2 mg in a matter of weeks and still need to take .5 mg of lorazepam or my heart will beat hard. They don't know what this does but it's easier than methadone.

Was on opiates 15 yrs for chronic pain. All Drs got put out of treatment and I'm allergic to shots. I was put on Suboxon at 12 mgs in Jan 2022 .w/in days I stopped ALL sneezing and numerous other issues began including loss of sight in one eye now filled w/ cataracts that had not been there six months prior. On Sept 14th, I stopped it cold turkey and had been down to 6 mgs. Drs didn't care I felt I was dying and adrenal function left me bedridden most days. At 27 days going cold turkey and no help from anyone, I thought I was going to die. I'm 64 but had been in exceptional health and a personal trainer for over 30 yrs, until Suboxon. I started it up at just 2mgs per day for 5 days only weeks ago. Then stopped again. Nothing hit until 96 hrs later. I don't sleep, am on xanax, heart rate escalate s at any movement and I feel I can't breathe. It is NOT anxiety! Its a screwed up poison synthetic drug NOBODY should take, period. I did research from 2002 to 2022, and its a joke played on people for money and to make people think its safer than actual real opiates that are not 100% synthetic. I'm on 11 days of pure hell. I can't function, wash up, eat, or sleep, nor keep enough fluids. I sweat gallons and have lost most all strength. I feel close to death. But I'd rather die trying than to ever go back to some poisonous, body damaging, completely synthetic chemically made drug that is yes, killing many, is sold on streets, is overdosed on, a 100% more dangerous than oxycontin or oxycodone any day of the week. I don't know at this point if ill make it out alive.
