I have been on sub for 10 years. All my teeth are destroyed. I've been having teeth removed every month now and I now have to have a partial and soon full denture at 39. If anyone knows anything about a class action. I'm on board.

My story is pretty much the same. I’ve been off suboxone for around 2 years but still having affects to my teeth because I can afford to fix them. I look like a meth addict. Had amazing teeth, went through major feconstructive surgery when I was 17 because of an overbite. My teeth depress me severely. I can’t go in public or work or anything because I’m ashamed. Something needs to be done about this medication.

I'd be trying to convince a Jury that the makers of Sub and the doc did not properly monitor me and the taper.
2mg is the smallest size they make. But, one should taper down to .25 and even lower, for more comfort. They should make smaller sizes and maybe even a 'Taper Pak' that would include 8mg x 7, 6mg x 7, 4mg x 7, 3mg x 7, 2mg x 7, 1.5mg x 7, 1mg x 7, .75mg x 7, .5mg x 7, .25mg x 7, .13mg x 7. I'm down to .75mg per day via cutting the 8mg strips. I'll stay here 5-7 days.
Going off from 8mg is a HUGE step off. Why not reduce further. If you go slow it's much easier.

I am also 10 years (almost) on the strips. No teeth issues.

My husband and I same thing. Been on sub for 12-13 years. I've been following this thread for over a year and pretty bummed no lawsuit (class action) has been filed. At least that I can see.

I have been on Suboxone fro 4 years and cannot get off trying to taper at this time. My teeth are noticeable slowly starting to get damaged as well. I see it starting at the gums and working their way down and I like most on here brush daily should I start taking pictures as they start to worsen?

PS There should be a class action on this drug the states and counties are filing why can't we ????

Yeah, I've been taking these subs for years now. Before that I stayed strung out on multiple opiates for 6 yrs. I brush and floss faithfully. I carry multiple toothbrushes in both my vehicles, gym bag, and backpack. My teeth have literally been breaking apart. Never had an issue before suboxone, and people can explain it away all they want. Buprinorphine has destroyed my teeth. Sometimes I feel like I just traded one addiction for another.

Age:55 Been on Suboxone for 7(?) years. I'm at about 12-14mg./day now. Neglected going to a dentist for 10+ years as my teeth were always hard & strong. I always had gum recession, but then yellowing appeared where enamel was gone. I had the yellowing patched. The recession leads to exposed nerve roots which causes sensitive teeth. Had my 1st abscessed tooth ever last week! My whole cheek was swollen. Took antibiotics for 1 week for that. My dentist explained I ''have an old deep filled cavity that may be a 'highway' for bacteria to cause that infection? If it happens again, I may need a root canal!''. My daughter just started Methadone for ''H'' abuse, which is why I started researching what will happen to HER teeth,... which led me HERE! SURPRISE-SURPRISE!!!!
I figured "I'm 55, my teeth are starting to go?" I also drink coffee (recovering alcoholic 17 years) & smoke cigarettes. My God, I'm gonna have to seriously consider tapering off Suboxone if it is the reason for my somewhat increasing dental issues? I tried that 2 years ago, & could only get down to 2mg./day. Maybe less is better? I've heard horror stories of cold-turkeying off Suboxone- "2-3 weeks of fetal position & pain, crawling to bathroom!" I've read you can taper off , but everyone is different. Some find it easy.... other very difficult.

I got off Methadone (5 years) and Suboxone (6years) with the help of KRATOM!! I only used it for withdrawals. The only discomfort/withdrawals i had were i sneezed in the AM, that was it. KRATOM was a lifesaver. Been free from these nightmare medications for over 2 years now. IT CAN BE DONE! Good luck:)

Yes, I've read about Kratom. I'd heard the FDA was going to BAN it? Most recent info. (11/14/17) on that is here:
https://www.fda.gov/NewsEvents/Newsroom/PressAnnouncements/ucm584970.htm
"It’s very troubling to the FDA that patients believe they can use kratom to treat opioid withdrawal symptoms. "
WHERE did you GET KRATOM? WHERE CAN I GET KRATOM?

I have lost all of my teeth due to the extreme decay that Suboxone has caused. I was on 8/2mg 4x a day.For the first 2-3 years I was on the tablets until the film's became accessable. I believe the tablets were much more damaging than the film's but both are the reason for the massive decay of my teeth and surrounding bone. In total, it has cost me over $45,000 in dental work alone, not to mention the lost time from work and all the pain I had suffered through. I have all the paperwork and photos documenting the entire process which I'm still paying for to this day. If there is an attorney out there somewhere that would work with me to pursue a claim against the manufacturer of Suboxone I'd like to speak with you. For everyone who is suffering from tooth decay, bone loss and pain due to this medication, I feel for you. I know what you're going through.

Mark, I would like to link up with you on your suit against the manufacturer of Suboxone. I was a Physician Assistant, had my license revoked secondary to Buprenorphine. I have not lost a few teeth, I've lost ALL MY TEETH...!! I had the greatest motivation to discontinue BUP (Suboxone) .....keep my medical license, or take BUP....I stopped it for even as much as a year, until I wanted kill myself, and had to get back on it, losing my medical license permanently!! Now, I'm going to an endocrinologist secondary to BUP causing hormone failure.....
My case sounds worse than yours, thus.....ought to help you, and I need an attorney. I'm residing in Destin, Florida.
