I'm on day 9 without suboxone in my system and it still sucks. I am not getting much sleep and still have severe muscle aches. I was on Suboxone for almost 8 years! I have taken a few Lora tabs to help with the muscle aches and to help be able to continue on with my life as best that I can right now. I started tapering myself a month before I quit. (My dr would lower my dosage, just wanted me to stay hooked longer) I went from 12mg a day to less than 1/8th of a pill a day. I only took a very very small piece for the last week and thought I was going to get through it with no withdrawls....yea to easy. But I have found that blood pressure pills and anxiety meds help BIG TIME. Don't stop cold turkey if you can help it cause it will be soo much harder for you. If you do stop cold turkey go see a dr and tell them exactly what you are going through and ask them about blood pressure meds (if they don't mention it) Good luck!

anybody planning to withdraw from subs should stock pile some tramadol. while you still wont feel 100%, if you take 50mg 2x per day it will keep you from getting withdrawls for the most part i mean maybe you will get some chills but i did subs for over 5 years and went down to about 4mg per day before stopping and taking the tramadol. after a week cut down to 50 mg per day instead of 100. after another week you can either cut down again or just stop taking the tramadol completely and it is amazing the difference when compared to going cold turkey

Hello.

We are conducting short anonymous survey about Suboxone treatment, withdrawal and side effects.

The goal of this survey is gathering real life experiences from you and other people who went through treatment with Suboxone, Subutex or any form of medication that contains buprenorphine/naloxone.

We’ll use your experiences to make an ebook guide in order to help all patients who are currently going through Suboxone treatment, Suboxone withdrawal or who are experiencing side effects.

This survey won’t take more than 10 minutes of your time, and your answers may help people who are going through hard times on Suboxone.

You can access the survey here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/92QJT98

Thank you,
Billy

I am on day five of getting off suboxone, and let me tell u day 2-4 have so far been the worse. Luckily I have a great support system to get me through this. Although do not let ur place of work know what is going on with u, if u live in a right to work state they can fire u on the spot. I had been on suboxone for three years and knew it was time to get off. Despite what Drs say, if u feel it is time to be free and get the monkey of ur back GO DO IT! Two weeks of withdrawal is nothing compared to a lifetime monkey on ur back. Best of luck, if I can do it u can to. Ps; Xanax helps a lot with the withdrawls.

I have been doing opiates fo over 40 years and I believe that the best advice I can give is that if your not on subs or methadone don't dare get on them because if you do you are just trading addictions for a much harder withdrawl period. It is 100 x easier to stop regular opiates such as oxcy, morphine, heroine, than it is to kick subs or methadone. A mo. compared to possibly over a year seems to me like that would be the deal breaker but what do we know. People seem to go for broke when it comes to opiates. Just remember that an other addict told you this was gonna happen. Please run away from these so called addiction cure all drugs cause there arent any. Suboxone and methadone are the King and Queen of addictive drugs with a big army to bring you down. Stay away from these two Hellborn drugs cause they are the masters of trckery on the body. You will think you are surely gonna die

I was on Subs for about 2 and half years.  Last year on 07/23/2013 I took my last dose.  I was down to about 1 mg a day.  I am now proud to say It has been over a year with no relapse.  I do drink every now and again but nothing else.  I want to post to give people hope.  I feel pretty good these days.  If you can make it through the first 2 weeks, which are the worst, you have a really good shot of beating this.  Most of the physical symptoms are gone after the first 2 weeks.  For me the depression and anxiety was the hard part and of course lack of sleep.  From day 14 on it got better, little by little.  I would have days where i would feel worse than the day before.  Those days eventually turned into hours then minutes.  After a month I was still having some issues with sleep and anxiety but at this point it was more annoying than unbearable.  I would say the biggest mile stone where I really started to feel normal was after 90 days.  I have virtualy no cravings, i don't know why but i am thankfull.  07/23/2014 was a year.  I am no longer a slave to this medication and feels great.  I took colonidine for withdrawal symptoms, which helps a ton.  I took a non narcotice sleep aid, can't remember what it was called.  That is all I took.  I stopped the colondine after 2 weeks and only took the sleep aid, which didn't help all that much, every now again.  Do not take any opieate regardless of how much while you are withdrawaling, it will reset the clock.  I do not recommend Benzos as they just cause more mental issues in the long run when you stop those.  Anyway, it is possible and there is a light even if you don't think so right now.  Stick with it and you will feel better soon.  Good luck all and god bless!!!!

Hello all & glad i found this ! I have been taking the so called "medicine" suboxone" for over 2 years now & have been weaning down for the last 2/3 weeks & now have zero left w/ no prescription or means of aquiring one or buying off the street .

I am writing this message simply to state facts as i see them

(1) SUBOXONE is an extremely powerful & addictive narcotic precscribed to treat addiction to iilicit or orther prescribed narcotics .

(2) Suboxone is an extremely expensive "medication".

(3) Withdrawal from suboxone comepletely defeats its entire purpose , thereby proving w/out a doubt that it was produced & subsequently prescribed for no other reason than to make billions for the greedy pharmeceutical corporations !!!

(4) I will be filing lawsuits against the so called Dr for lieing to me about the entire process , promising me their were no withdrawals  & the maker for many many things.

This c**p destroyed me & my life !

I am on day 5 with no subs. I was on oxycodone and methadone for 5 yrs and didn't want to live tethered to pills anymore. My doc put me on 4mg/2mg subs and said I should be fine. I had already been off Oxys for 2 months and tapered my methadone to 30mgs myself. I only let myself take the subs for 2 weeks because I felt like I was just switching from one to the other, and to be honest, the subs didn't make me feel much better anyways. It's been 3 weeks since my last methadone and 5 days for subs. I had hoped the withdrawls wouldn't be as long and bad since I was only on it for 2 weeks. Yesterday wasn't as bad, but I haven't slept good since and today my legs are killing me, sneezing, hot flashes, etc. I guess I'm just posting this because it's comforting to know that other people have done it and so can I. I'm just looking forward to the day I wake up and feel normal again.

im going through the same thing. I thought that I was the only one. I cut myself down to a half mil and thought I could kick this feeling. it so sucks. I think the best thing is to tape yourself down as low as u can go and fight the rest on your own. I love you guys and I pray that all of us will be free from this sh*t. doctors don't know nothing about what we go through. take care in try to keep strong.

I am on day 4....I tapered over a long period of time using Suboxone Films. My original dose was 4mg daily, then I spent 6months at 2mg per day, then several months at 1mg per day, then several weeks at .5mg per day.....the 2mg films made these dose adjustments quite easy. It was amazing that .5mg piece of a film could hold me steady for an entire day. Now I am on day four of WD. Last night, the third night, I spent almost the entire night walking the floor...trying to get comfortable somewhere if even for a little while. I may have slept an hour or two here and there. I was on Suboxone for seven years and it really saved my life. Now it's time to fly without it. The WD isn't as bad as with opiates but even with tapering the restless legs, muscle aches and fatigue are bad enough I am not able to work. Hopefully this gets better soon and I can continue to fight my cravings. This WD is bad enough that I don't believe I will return to Suboxone maintenance again.

Are you still planning to quit from where you're at now? 8mgs seems like an awfully high dose to jump from... My advice would be to taper as low as you possibly can. I was on subs for almost 3 years and tapered down from 16 mgs to 2 mgs. About 6 months ago I hit a brick wall in my taper and would start going into WDs at even the slightest drop in dosage, which then would cause me to re-dose and I would end up back to 3 or 4 mgs. So once I stabilized at 2 mgs and realized tapering any lower was going to be rough I decided to "rip the bandaid off" so to speak and just quit. That was 25 days ago. The first week was pretty intense. I had really bad anxiety, horrible RLS (2 hours of sleep a night most nights), zero energy, depression, loss of appetite etc. after 2 weeks I truly felt like my life was in shambles. Every cell in my body was out of whack but then I turned a corner on day 18. I woke up with some energy and renewed hope and its been improving every day since. Yesterday and today I actually found myself somewhat HAPPY! The WDs still come and go in waves and I know that my energy bursts and good mood is usually temporary, but so is the waves of no energy and gloom. I'm a corporate chef and work 10-14 hours a day on my feet and have 2 small children at home so I know how frustrating the lack of energy is. I noticed as my appetite is slowly returning, so is my energy and I know this is no coincidence so I would encourage you to try to eat at least a little throughout the day. I'm now able to sit down and enjoy an entire meal and that really helps with both energy and relaxing at night. I also started downloading songs on my iPad that help boost my mood. One thing that I've noticed with each new day is my senses returning. I'm enjoying music more than I have in years and I'm starting to take notice and appreciation of small things that I didn't pay attention to while on opiates and subs. I'm even having dreams at night again (which I haven't had any in probably 4 years). It's pretty amazing how great the world is through clear eyes and not the opiate colored glasses that I've been looking through since 2010. I've been drinking muscle milk and taking vitamin B supplements everyday which also seems to help with my energy. Just keep plugging away. It does get better. Each day I'm gaining more and more confidence which is also boosting my mood. Just knowing I FINALLY have this monkey off of my back gives me the boost I need to see the next day. Hope you're doing well. Let me know if you need any advice or just somebody to vent to. I've hit these forums pretty hard over the past 2 weeks and just typing and unloading really helps alot.
