I am experiencing the same pain, sharp pain started in earlobe, up the ear into my head..intermittant about every minute or so for 2 days now.. I am very stressed and recently had dental work may be the reason? Looking here for answers..
I GET THEM ALL THE TIME, I VE BEEN TO A NEUROLOGIST, I VE HAD CAT SCANS, MRI ,THEY COULDN T FIND ANYTHING WRONG, I JUST LIVE WITH IT, I FIGURE ONE DAY I LL DIE OF AN ANEURISM, YOUR CASE DON T SEEM AS SEVERE AS MINE,IT S 8 AM HERE IN ST.LOUIS & I VE ALREADY HAVE HAD 6 SHOOTING PAINS WHICH I DESCRIBE AS HAVING AN ICE PICK DRIVEN IN MY BRAIN, THE PAIN LAST A FEW SECONDS, HOWEVER IT MAKES ME STOP ANYTHING I AM DOING AT THE MOMENT
That was a very helpful post! Thank you. I'm getting checked out tomorrow by my dr. and am requesting a catscan. The shooting pains are new to me over the past two to three months. I've always had headaches but with the new shooting pains, I've been concerned. But, I do appreciate your post.
I get almost the same thing but it's on my left side of my head, I never felt this type of pain before, at least not in my head anyway. The pain is my temple right near my left eye ,my left eye has been drooping somewhat the last few days ,
I've recently experienced great relief from pain by seeing a chiropractor. My body was seriously out of alignment causing headaches, back aches etc. Worked miracles for me. But do you homework, all chiropractor are not equal.
hey, that kinda describes my pains, their excruciating, they last for days, and don't stop,it drags the life out of me,i cry,i pray to god to take the pain away,it controls your life,i'mhaving them now as i write this..good luck.
i also have a small sharp shooting pains on the right side of my head. it happends 2 - 3 times in 5 seconds. im freaking out cause i have bone pains and and most symptoms of leukemia!!!
I have the same symptoms and had a n mri and there was nothing wrong with me.
Hi I know this was a long time ago now, I was wondering if you ever found out what this pain is? Also did you get a weird sensation or pulling down of the tongue when the pain hit? Thanks!
I've experienced this exact same pain.. Initially it was right above my right ear.. Then months later, above my left ear.. A couple weeks ago it has been at the crown of my head.. But yes, the stabbing feeling is very sharp but quick.. And when I feel it.. It often makes my eye blink/jerk involuntary.. And the pain doesn't last long at all.. I honestly believe it is stress related.. because I notice it when I'm overwhelmed.. And only certain times of the year when I am the busiest.. I'm happy to know that it doesn't sound serious.. Ive had a MRI and ct scans and they found nothing.. I notice when I'm relaxed and laying down it's very very minimal.. Sometimes the area where it stabs hurts to the touch.. And is sensitive in that area.. Has anyone else felt this way too?
I am a female 55yrs that has been going through menapause for almost 6 years. I too started having sharp stabbing pains behind my right ear and had infection in a tooth on the same side starting 6 days ago. It is tender to touch behind my right ear. I also seem to have a headach that starts from the back of my head and migrates behind my eyes. They come and go but seemed to be worse before I took the antibiotics for my tooth. The intinsity seems to be less as well. I am pretty laid back and don't have anxiety but was concerned enough to look up my symptoms online. I am going to keep a record of them after I am off my antitibiotics to see if they get any worse. I hoping they just go away.
What you are experiencing is a rare phenomena called "Ice Pick HeadAches" which involves short bursts of pain around the eyes, temple or middle of the head. It is most common in woman and can occur any time at of the day. Studies have shown that they normally start during Childhood also. As of now, medical specialists, know that "Ice Pick HeadAches" are not associated with tumours or annuerisms, and instead are completely harmless. There is no cure, per say, but certain medications have been known to reduce the amount of them a person has. Doctors don't know what cause these headaches but research is being carried out towards them
occipital neuralgia IS WHAT IT SOUNDS LIKE.
Funny not so funny i guess, but no one seems to have an answer! Just sayin...
I'm experiencing the same thing. Exactly. Did you find results
