Well, my last period started on March 29th, and went until april 6th. I had light spotting until the 12th. it then stopped. Today, when I woke up, it had started again, very heavy. There were several clots, too. This is rather normal, and this is how my periods usually are. but I think this was a little too close together... It then stopped shortly after I woke up (around 6 am), then started again just now, with a light to medium flow. I'm really worried, and don't know what to do. I know I asked this earlier, but I never get any helpful answers... what should I do? I can't go to the doctor, because there's no one here to take me. I had my first period in November '09, so I know they're still irregular, but I'm just really worried... I feel like crying because I'm so confused. :-( help please? Thanks...
Hi Anna! I know it's scary but don't be OK? It's a terrible feeling to have all of this going on BUT it is TOTALLY normal! I can take up to a full year and perhaps longer for you to regulate - even though usually the first 6 months are the craziest! Ask ANY woman about when she first started with her period and we ALL have those stories about accidents, clotting, pain, excessive bleeding etc. It is ALL from hormones! When you hit puberty - your hormones are ALL over the place and with this it creates a build up of the uterine lining - so each month can be TOTALLY different, it is ALL about the lining - when you have a normal period the lining sheds over 5 - 7 days - thus being light at the end! When you are in puberty your hormones keep replacing that lining , thus the clots and the bleeding a few days after! I know this sounds a bit gross - but it's kind of like a tap being left slightly on ALL the time and then lossened up even more and FLUSH! Think of a piece of cotton you slowly build it up with water, then all of a sudden the water starts flowing through till it's empty! BUT as soon as the water has stopped, then it starts going again! This is the SAME thing! So don't worry OK honey! and just ALWAYS carry pads and protection - you can also use teenage tampons - for the clotting! These are smaller and will not cause your hymen to tear!

Hang in there honey OK? It WILL get better I promise! There is NOTHING wrong = just mother nature doing her job!
