Everyone's pain isn't the same so I don't think it's fair to say that anyone exaggerated. Pain is different for everyone. I did the surgery on 2/9/18. It's 2/12/18 and I am now in worse pain than I was on the day after the surgery. Yesterday and today, I am extremely swollen, or feel extremely swollen and have been in excruciating pain. My first bm was today and that was OK thank God. The pain with the bm came after the bm. But it was tolerable. I can barely move out of bed or even reposition myself in bed and am now just praying for this to be over with as I have a 2 year old to care for along with myself.

I am telling you that a growth of any type is NOT normal. Please see a competent doctor to remove the cauliflower growth and then seek legal advice. But, I'm sure you've taken care of the problem by now.

Well said Wheels. I’m a 48 year young male LOL. I’m on day 12 post surgery. Had three large internal ones removed and two small tied off. This is hellish to say the least. I’ve had maybe one day that I could remotely say I felt a little better. But I’m working through it. PAIN beyond believe, awful BMs, lack of sleep, feeling of being drugged up, scared of eating..... and that just for me. I see the frustration in my wife’s eyes as she does hey best to care for me and run the house on top of working and getting my young teenager daughters to practices and such. I feel so helpless.

Yeah the way this affects the ones around us is tough. My wife cried and cried just because I was in pain and she could do nothing to help.

When you get through it, and you will, you can make it up to her. :)

Today is a bad pain day for me. Families off to work and school. I’m just a guy home alone crying. Been in two sitz in the last three hours. Day 12 and praying I get reliefe. Also have a string hanging out of me. Dare not touch it. Dark blood clots in my soft BMs

Day 12. Woke for 6am pain meds. Felt urge to stool. Stepped in shower. Much to my shock released nothing but large dark blood clots. Massive amounts. More than anytime since surgery. Seeing doctor early afternoon. Bit scared!

Saw Doc yesterday. Blood and clots normal (Phew), will see more she said. Snipped annoying hnhging external stitches. Put me on Valium to control sphincter spasms which add to pain. So now on two narcotics. Gave me Calmoseptine for itchy external pain, feels soothing. Was told to limit sitz baths to 3 a day. Need to keep drier down there. Pain at times sends me through roof but I suck it up.

God bless you. "there is light at the end of the tunnel" is what is keeping me going. I am going through hell now. Thanks

You’ll get through it. Just takes time. Doctor said to me yesterday open heart surgery recovery is easier than this. Will say the OTC cream they gave me is a god send. One less irritation I have to deal with. I feel so helpless as a 47 year old Dad, husband and man.

Hi, I am day 9 post-op. Had two internal haemorrhoids removed. Now I can see there are two or three lumps on the external. Would like to check if this is normal? If so, when would it go down? I used to have internal haemorrhoids which only prolapsed after bowel movement which I can push them back in. But now after surgery, I am left with two external lumps which are even worse to deal with as they are there the whole time. Any advice or experience shared will be greatly appreciated. I just need someone to tell me it's normal and it will go away with time. Thanks ;)

I think a day 9 post op anything is possible. I’m at day 13 and still bleeding and in pain. The Valium and Hydrocodone at least take the edge off. Doctor keeps telling me to be patient

My external swelling took almost three weeks to even START to go down. It was BIG and weird and I was worried I had been made worse. Now, it is literally just a wrinkle on my butt.

I sitzed, iced them, and generally just tried to not strain.

Hi, thank you for your reply. So yours do go down after 3 weeks?

I am so worried when I see it through the mirror. They just look like haemorrhoids that don't go away. And I tried many times to push them back in but to no avails. :( feel very frustrated and also regret for doing this surgery and it only makes me feel worse now. I'm in tears every night.

Yes, and it took all of three weeks for it to even begin going down. And then it took a week or two to get it down to just a wrinkle.

And this swelling had popped out POST surgery by about a week or so....so we're talking 4 weeks really (I didn't know it was so swollen the first week obviously as it was still inside!)

I'm like you, I was taking pics with my phone every day and was SO discouraged as my swelling just sat there, looking like a new roid. But it wasn't. I also had all the regret and hating myself for not having just "lived with it". In the end it worked out for me and I certainly hope for you as well.

Hi.. thank you so much for sharing your experience with me. I hope time really does heal it. I am seeing doctor again on coming Wednesday as I'm really worried. Don't know how many sleepless nights more for me worrying about these swollen bumps.

Once again, thank you so much. At least I see some hope from your story. :)
