Dont believe that, Methotrexate worked right away for my husband who has RA. why would they give you those strong drugs if you tested negative?
Hi, I am just wondering if you found out what was wrong? Because I have exactly the same symptoms, swollen knee and ankle and stiff neck and back. I also thought I could have slept on it wrong so bought a new pillow but not much change and the knee has been swollen for weeks with the ankle comming on the past couple of days out of nowhere. I am usually pretty healthy and it has come out of nowhere so am also getting quite concerned. The anti flame, ice packs, rest and medication is just not helping.
A friend of mine told me to put organic cabbage around my knee and secure it by wrapping saran wrap over it. I tried it a couple nights and my knee feels a lot better. I can go up and down the stairs again.
i. don't know if this will. help it maybe something diffrent but this is what they found with my daughter when she was 22. her ankle sweled so big i was a wreck the Dr we had new right away. it was. sarquis. a very rare arthritous very. hard to detect. she was put in the hospital on steroids and it is something that stays in your body and she was on a cancer pill pill which puts it in remission. it is hard to detect and alot of Drs dont even think about it. but it is very hard to detect she is now 45 and. has been doing well but scarry you never know when it will come back. after her episode with it i know a few other people with it. it needs to. be treated with steroids. you can get on line and order the book Sarqouis. she was on another pill but i can't remember the name of it. they told me it hits younger people. very hard. to detect. Good Luck to all of you. i hope you find an amswer. this is a rare arthritus. disease i never heard of it until my daughter got hit with it. you Face
It's most likely a subluxated joints. Our bodies are so sensitive. Regular medical doctors are not as sensitive as chiropractors. Please find a friendly informed chiropractor. 3 adjustments 14 years ago and I haven't had a problem since! Best of luck!
Oh man, I'm suffering too. The swelling is not as big as a baseball, but I have big enough pockets of puff around my ankles and now on my knees.
A Mexican Massage therapist said it's uric acid build up in my system.
I have Kaiser Perm and nothing gets diagnosed. I too have had blood work and exrays taken. They said to just wear support hose. Now the puff is going past the elastic up my calf. I feel the elastic support socks made the pain and swelling travel up my legs. I've been wearing them since summer.
I don't want to take pain pills, I'm 53 and worry about my other organs and I have younger kids still.
My son, the cross fit trainer, said to work out, strengthen the supporting muscles and it'll help. After 2 months of yoga/aerobics/pulling bands, I've lost 10 pounds and 85%of the pain is gone from the rest of my body. My toes, balls of feet, and ankles still hurt--daily. I use pain patches; they seem to help rest the discomfort and allow me to rest and sleep.
It's hard for me because my husband is a man, lacking in experience with pain. "Just deal with it." I hate that fraise and the mind-set and that's how I feel when ever I go to the doctor about my hurting feet. Someone else said weight doesn't matter because other thin people feel the same pain.
I'm so confused. Everyday I'm in pain and my attitude has been affected by this "condition".
My mother has been suffering for the past 20years with the same problems. She never exercised a day in her life. She is part of the opioid statistic in this country. Driving!! Old!! on Drugs!!! Way to go America!!
Check your diets: avoid salt and yeast, eat more fruits and veggies, avoid fatty/bad cuts of meats. Move your bodies way more! Move till you sweat for 30minutes straight with out interrupting the sweating, and then spend time cooling down with meditational breathing exercises. Exercise with a purpose of healing your body, no other reasons now.
I've been trying to stop the crazies all my life and nothing in ingestible form has helped me. Kaiser loves to dispense those pills.
Gosh, thank you universe for allowing me to vent. I don't know what else to do.

The reasons may be different, from Osteoarthritis to bone infection. Each reason must be treated accordingly.
I had the pain in my both knees and the right one was swollen from time to time. Thanks to doctors from ARO clinic, they diagnosed degenerative arthritis and I'm on I'm undergoing treatment now. Feel much better

I have your symptoms. Did the rheumatologist help you?
Ive also had unexplained knee and ankle swelling. The pain seems unbearable at times. Based on all the previous comments, I wonder if the swelling could be related to some infection in the body..... Perhaps like Sepsis?. Could that be the culprit? Planning to followup with a Rheumatologist as well.
I have the same symptoms that everyone has listed here. Mine started with joint pain on March 21, 2022. I thought it was just odd and then developed fever of 100.9 by midnight. I stayed feverish and achy for 3-4 days. The fever ended but the pain and swelling in my knees, ankles feet and to a lesser extent low back and neck have continued unabated. I went from walking the dog 1-2 miles a day to not being able to get around the block. I have seen my GP and she ran blood work, put me on Meloxicam (terrible rash allergy) and then prednisone which worked but as soon as I quit, symptoms all returned. Now working with Rheumatologist. She took dozens of X-rays, many blood tests and pulled fluid from the knee. Nothing has shown anything. I have now done 8 doses of methotrexate with no significant improvement. Clearly, some kind of virus or bacteria started this but no one seems to know how to end it. Has anybody tried either antibiotics or anti-virals with any success? I’m really frustrated and the pain makes me tired. I am middle age and not ready to be this incapacitated.
