Hi all,
I am so glad I came across this thread as it has put my mind at ease once and for all.
I had been on Yasmin for almost 4 years with no issues - weight loss, clear skin etc. I decided to come off it for a year just to give my body a break.
I went to the doctor 12 days ago to go back on Yasmin and I regret it so very much. I am a fit, healthy, 23 year old woman. I started taking Yasmin and within a week I began to experience the strangest electric shock like feelings all over my body. I put it down to a pinched nerve and continued to take Yasmin as normal. I then began to experience pains and weakness down my legs, in my back, neck, shoulders and arms, as well as chest tightness and a terrifying burning feeling. My anxiety levels were so insanely high I was crawling the walls, terrified of what was wrong with me. The final straw came when I woke from sleep one night having the worst panic attack I have ever had - palpitations, hyperventilating, nausea, literally thinking I was going to die.
I got my work colleague's brother who is a doctor's opinion on my case and he said to stop taking Yasmin immediately. I took my last pill the day before yesterday and I am already feeling less of a brain fog. I still have the pin pricks but I am hoping that over the next few days these will ease, along with the muscular pain.
I have since read that my symptoms point towards hyperkalemia - a condition that develops due to the potassium sparing effect of Yasmin on the body. It can cause the electric shock feelings over the body as well as fatigue and muscle weakness.
I will never put another birth control pill into my body for as long as I live - especially Yasmin. It is not worth these absolutely horrendous side effects.

About six months ago I started to use Yasmin pills. I started to get heart palpitations, leg cramps, hair loss, and horrible back pains. Stopped using it a couple of weeks ago, because of these side effects.
