I recently discovered a small hard ball inside my scrotum, not attached to the testicles, more to the back of the scrotum itself. A few weeks after discovering it it became enlarged and slightly uncomfortable so I went to the doctors who said it wasn't a concern as it wasn't attached to the testis and was probably a cyst. but referred me to have an ultrasound anyway. A day or two after it began to decrease in size so I thought it must be a cyst and didn't go to the ultrasound. 2 months or so later it has decreased in size more.. But still there, do I have any reason to be alarmed if it has decreased in size and not attached to the testicles? It's about half the size of a pea maybe even smaller.

Hello, Thomas123.  I don't believe there should be any worry as well.  If it is shrinking, that is a good sign.  If it doesn't hurt you, that is also great.  You don't need to have anything done with it unless it bothers you a lot, then the doctor can remove it for you.  I know that men are skittish about a scalpel anywhere near there, so I am assuming you will much rather leave it alone.

Are there forum readers that have had a cyst like this present in their scrotum as well?  Did it do anything and did you have it removed?

That's good to here, would there be any risk of it being a threat at all? I know testicular cancer can cause effects through the scrotum, but at there is no threat from them, could dangerous tumors potentially be in the scrotum and be totally different to TC?
