hi im 53, had a prostate weight 250g, I know bloody huge, and had it reduced by one third back in 2009. Teh operation was good in so far as I could urinate again after 5yrs with catheters, but I still bled occassionally, and had constant prostatitis, and the antibiotics etc etc. I was happy wtih being able to pee, and was prepared to put up with the rest as I just accepted it as normal.
4 weeks ago the flood gates opened, and I was bleeding, passing clots the size of elephants, in so much pain I was using oxycontine and endone just to get thru the day, taking antibiotics (3 of them) and finally the bleeding stopped but ive had enough, Im back for surgery next week to have this fixed again. I dont blame the Dr given the size of my prostate, and for 3.5yrs Ive urinated with out a catheter, but the rest has been murder.
Shame is I dodnt get retrograde ejaculation post surgery even though I had had it before, so here is hoping I dont get that curse back again, but I have no choice. I dont think there is a perfect answer for everything, we just have to accept what there is, and this proceedure suits me as I can leave hospital the next day. wish me luck, as I wisk all of you luck, Im hoping for the best, but as long as I dont have to use those damn catheters every time I pee I can put up with almost anything, no more bleeding would just be a bonus.
