I am 41 years old and need a hip replacement but have been told I am too young even though I need it done. I have also been told that because there is so much nerve damage that even after surgery I may still have as much pain. Does anyone have the same story and if so what ha  been the outcome

Hello caroline... I have seen many people, primarily older ones, that have had hip replacement.  They came through it without any problems or problems with nerve damage.  Since you are younger, you should bounce back pretty well.  I would encourage you to have the hip replacement and not listen to the naysayers who think you will have nerve damage from it.  You will have to have therapy to walk on it but other than that, you should be able to get back to normal activity before you know it. Let us know how it turns out!

How has others fared from having hip replacement?  Did you have any complications?
