Neosporin appears to be working on the rash I have had under my right eye. Itches but the rash is no where near as bad and not noticeable.
Prednisone is what my dermatologist recommended, it was really harsh on the system, but eventually worked. however 2 years later the rashes have returned. I'm wondering if it has a link to poison ivy.
Apparently my doctor was right about the rash under my eye. She said that it was probably from something I used around the house on a daily basis. My rash would come and go and when it came it was horrible looking. So it turns out it was from Lavender hand soap that was in the main washroom in my house. And the thing that made it worse when my son was born was the fact that I was using Lavender bath soap, shampoo and lotion on him. I stopped using everything lavender and the rash is gone.
After reading the replies here, I am not sure if I have what you describe, but I can tell you what helped me within a matter of days...

Any drawing salve might do, but this just so happens to be the one I tried, and it worked in a matter of days. I just dabbed some on twice a day, and that has cleared it up. It's cheap too -- only about $3.25 USD.
Previously, I tried steroid cream (Nystatin) as I usually use for everything (including mosquito bites), until I heard someone say here that steroid creams used frequently can cause this problem under the eye(s). So, I've discontinued that of course.

I have a 3 yr. old and she has red, itchy, flaky skin around both of her eyes and now on her chin for about three weeks now. I've tried petrolemu, anti itch creams, coco butter, nesporin and still trying to find a solution to her problem. If anyone has any suggestions PLEASE let me know. Thanks.
I have had red, swollen and itchy skin on my eyelids and around my eyes for the last 3 years during the winter and had to forgo eye makeup for a week to let it heal on it's own. As a woman, I learned to use eye drops for morning puffy eyes, so I thought what would happen if I do the same thing except use allergy eyedrops? Immediately the itching and redness went away and then I alternated between the regular eye drops the allergy ones for a full day. The next day it was gone and I could wear my eye makeup again! Previously I tried everything I read about online and nothing worked. I hope this helps someone. It was a miracle for me this year.

he prescribed Ketoconazole cream 2% and told me to mix it with Hydrocortizone cream 1% ...... so far so good, the itchiness immediately disappeared and my condition improved greatly after 1 or 2 applications.

my cousins got the same thing we've tried clear eye and washed it with a hot rag and we can seamed to stop itching hes itched it so much is flesh is starting to come of from the rag!!!
I have the same thing and was told to use baby shampoo and its still not working...I have wrinkles also now from it. HELP!!!
I know what you mean I have the same thing its red and sort of wrinkly it gets so dry when i tend to gently scratch it and even then i get cuts on my eyes. Doctors have prescribed me creams with steroid supplements but they just make it dryer cortizone 10 intensive healing has helped with the trying so maybe that might work for you but if you find a better remedie let me know Please :)

okay so i think i found a solution, but I am not going to count my chicken before they hatch as I have been battling this for about 6weeks now and it has come and gone a couple of times, well the visible appearance anyway, the last couple times it was still itchy even after i couldn't see it anymore.
It started under my right eye, then spead to my left on both the top and the bottom of my eyelid, in the morning it is usually red, swollen and makes my eye water which then causes the rash to burn, usually after i am up for a little bit the burning and itching sensation subsides, and the redness goes away they are just really dry and scaly. I wasn't sure what was causing it and I don't have medical so I decided that my best option was going to be process of elimination. I have never had skin problem or any allergies,
so here are the things I thought it could possibly be.
some sort of newly developed allergy:
1 Food (i have been eating a lot of honey in place of regular suger
2 contact with a plant, or dust
3. a pet allergy (got a new ferret about 9 months ago)
Some sort of psoriasis or ezema
1. I also have a really bad case of dandruff right now.
a physical effect to do some kind of vitamin/mineral/hormone deficiency
1. I lack enough of a certian hormone in my body and it seems to be getting worse as I get older.
2. I started doubling up on my multi-vitamins.

so I started with some natural remedies, like washing with baby shampoo, trying an all natural moisturizer, put honey on the eyelid before bed (honey is a natural anti-histamine) taking vitamins. This really seemed to calm it down it looked like it was almost completely gone, but still itched. then WHAM it came back even worse then before. I have continued to change my bedding and even washed my bedding with only vinegar and no soap just to make sure it wasn't the detergent, I haven't had the ferret near me or in my bedroom for months now and still its not going away. Someone suggested trying dandruff shampoo, which helped with the itching and the flakyness but the rash is still there. so I decided to try a few different creams to see if there would be any difference. Neosporin did not help at so that ruled out surface bacterial. I found some zinc oxide cream which is for diaper rash, WOW that really helped instantly the dead flaky skin started peeling off and the itchyness went away, leaving behind a bright red rashy mark it looked worse but it felt so much better. so during the day I have been putting cortizone cream on it and at night I have been applying diaper rash cream but it really is looking and feeling so much better, the rashes are almost completely gone now, and most importantly it doesn't itch anymore, which is something I haven't been able to get rid of previously even when it visible is gone. I will let every know if the diaper rash cream cures it completely
I haven't found a 'cure' but I thought I'd share that I use l'occitane shea butter on my eyelids/around my eyes because Vaseline irritates my eyes so if anyone else has that problem I suggest shea butter as an alternative, it's great. I also found even though cold tea bags didn't solve the problem they really did help soothe the area and provided some welcome relief. I also agree it's VERY important to stop yourself from touching your eyes because of germs and allergies + also regularly wash your sheets and pillows. I've had problems with many shampoo in the past irritating my eyes so now I wash my hair in my sink/hand basin so that the shampoo doesn't get in my eyes.
Ahh!! Me too! I just woke up this morning and it has been like this all day! I don't know what to do. It's dry, sore, puffy underneath my eyes and makes my skin wrinkle under my eyes! What should I do?
Do you mean brew a cup of tea and then put the hot/warm teabags under your eyes? I have done that too. Its very soothing but not sure it actually takes away the condition.
