I am glad I checked his forum. I just noticed the smell. It comes with blood stains and smells like poo. I even thought my daughter pooped without telling me until I decided to go check. I have only had the Mirena in for 1 month. I am not comfortable with this at all

Ive wondered if the foreign object could be trapping or creating some fluid turning it foul before exiting my body. Clear discharge, No other symptoms. This is my second iud. I've wondered with both.

I've had the Copper 10 year IUD for a little over a month and a half, this is so horrible I smell like I'm rotting constantly . My discharge can't even be predictable , some days it's as if I were turned on the whole day and my underwear is soaking... I get really intense cramps a week before I even start bleeding which causes my anxiety to rise. I don't want to blame my obgyn because she's fabulous other wise but the information given to me or on the online brochures only glorify their product. It's caused me to be super embarrassed with my boyfriend who I'm naturally really open with , ive been more shut off towards him with sex because on one account a few weeks after I wasn't sore or bleeding anymore from the insertion we were getting intimate and he mad a foul face because I literally smelled like a fish locker... I was really upset, and the taste and smell has been completely off . With sex lacking and my mood being altered from the insecurities and thoughts going through my head. I'm getting it removed because I can't take the smells, and inconsitancy with the pre cramping.
I had my copper iud for two years. I had it removed today and can not be happier. Smell and discharge completely gone! It's only been 10 hours and it's weird to not feel gross discharge coming from my lady parts. I honestly forgot what it was like to feel like a normal girl. I just got the Copper IUD less than 38 hrs ago.. The doctor did a Pap really quick before inserting it.. Yes, it hurt like hell, but tolerable. I do in fact have an odor that I do Not like. I'm ashamed for my partner to go down because if he sticks his fingers inside me I don't know what smell will come out! Should I wait it out.. Or get this c**p removed? I do Not take pills everyday..
I have had the same odor and discharge some of you are describing. IT IS NOT NORMAL. Anytime your discharge is not a white/cream color go to the doctor. If I had come a month ago when I first showed these signs I wouldn't be sitting here shaking and crying. My iud was embedded in my uterus, and was causing the smell and discharge, I let this go on a month before coming to the doctor. Go see your doctor, please.
I have had the IUD 3 weeks now , and I have been bleeding for 2 weeks now and I have vaginal smell along with it. I hate all of it because it just doesn't go away and I am sexually active. I dont know what to do.
I too have the copper IUD and also have to deal with this issue exactly as everyone discribes however I've had it for about 8 years now & have noticed a pattern- it's worse the week after my period & the week/days I ovulate. My OB/GYN told me from the start that it was normal & that it's a side effect (wish he would've told me before getting it).
I wash thoroughly morning & night & use liners, fem sprays & powders and during the heavier days I change liners at least 5times a day no joke. I try & make myself feel better by reminding myself sex feels better without a condom lmao & better this than another pregnancy - ( I have 3 already)

Did you remove your IUD? And if so did the smell leave?
I had the same issues with the Skyla which is a hormone based IUD not copper.
Hello! I too have experienced some type of smell not rotten but a little fishy. Since this was a year ago for you did you ever get it taken out? And if so did you notice the smell has gone away?
