I used to get this up until I was in my mid twenties. I never knew what it was, I never saw a Doctor about it. I've recently spoken to my children about it and my eldest child has experienced this too. I've never found anyone else who has had this until now. I've come to the conclusion that no one else knows anything about it either. I'm in my fifties now and I do have them as such, apart from when I go to sleep. On occasion I get vision disturbance when I close my eyes and colours and patterns form and pulsate fast. This only happens every now and again. I would like to know if it is a serious issue I need to look into.

I am 18 and have had it more often now than I ever have I hate it. When it occurs I do not know what to do its getting to a point where I have it maybe 2-3 times a week or so I am glad I'm not the only one been considering going to the doctors and getting professional advice and if there's any way it can be stopped or controlled I get it shortly after waking up or if I'm dehydrated or after a specific dream that if weird and hard to tell others about this. I have always had horrible thoughts along with this fast feeling I find it difficult to deal with as I could be doing the most simple thing like driving or watching a film and it occurs but there must be some sort of trigger to set this feeling off?
I just got this feeling for the first time and I freaked out so I looked it up. Glad it’s nothing serious.

I got this feeling just now, im glad to see im not the only one getting these . I hopee someone haas an explanation for this
I currently have a fever and I woke up to my mom serving me orange juice but everything was so intense. My sister came into my room and even though I see her mouth moving at a normal pace it's like she was screaming at me or something... this isn't even close to an accurate representation bUT I'm hoping someone will understand. I felt like I was going to explode. have no doctors and anyone in the medical business been able to figure this out
I get these too . Why this happens is there any explanation for that.
I was just now having this fast feeling thingy which prompted me searching for it. I mostly feel this in a dream, like my dream suddenly go crazy fast and uncontrollable. I remember I was doing something in my dream but then the feeling kicks in and my arms went apeshit in my dream, it freaked me out and woke me up lol
I began reading this thread that started years ago hoping to find an answer at the end to give a name to this horrible sensation! My boyfriend and I came to the realisation that we both suffered this as children and rarely now as adults but had never discussed it due to the fear of just being crazy! I cannot believe the amount of people experiencing this but it has no name or diagnosis??!! Now I have my own daughter I am determined to figure out what this is! Now she is 5, from the pattern described by others she could be experiencing this soon and I need to find out what it is.
Is anybody any closer to figuring out what I earth causes these feelings? I was excited to read that it may be AIWS just to have a name to it but now I’m not so sure? If anyone still reads this thead and has further information please do share!

Further to my previous comment, my boyfriend and I were looking for similarities in our childhoods, to see if there were any factors that may contribute. We are both from busy families, with lots of constant noise in the house. We both suffered with these episodes on the quiet occasions, night times, when everyone was out etc. Could it be the absence of familiar, random noises from others that we were so used to hearing from birth that when they are taken away our brain triggers this response?
Alice in Wonderland syndrome - Size distortion, fast feeling, inner voice urgency in the context of; These sensory perceptions seem to be running at a fast rate than usual.
It is completely normal, and many have had this since they were a child.
My personal opinion it has to do with a few options which are:
1. Low blood sugar
2. Head pressure, aka some type of a migraine
3. a loss sense of breath in the form of body relaxation.
Solution: Try eating some candy, Regulating your breathing, getting sunlight, drinking water.
Many, including myself, have had these experiences within the sensation of a "fast-feeling", Everything around me feeling gigantic while I feel small, Things sounding fast but everything is moving regularly as it should.
It's just more of a "sensory illusion" of brain signals being sent to our bodies/mind to be seen as "irregular pace of motion perception."
Which in turn, is all regularly normal and apparently quite common with other individuals within these forums.

I've also had this feeling since I was young when I saw a dark shadow in my bedroom and screamed out.ive had bad dreams since then about ppl I don't know dying or ppl I do know running away from ppl. I've been getting them often recently as it did carm down over the years.im now 31 after the attack I call it finishes I have a metal taste in my mouth.my leg if there crossed will also shake on its own and I can't stop it. It's been worse for me since I was 21 when my uncle came to get rid of spirits from my mum's home as I couldn't understand what was going on as I couldn't step in the living room like they were a shield up.anyways ppl will think I'm crazy for telling u this but that's ofcorse how I feel ha
It happened to me too! I would have a dream, and this is speculation, but I would see a small girl, who was standing next to a large man. What happened next is unclear, but it seemed like something terrible happened to the girl, but it wasn't because of the man, it was something that came from him. Weird, I know, but after the dream, I'd wake up and everything was moving without me. I've also gotten the feeling that I was apart from the world and I was moving too fast and making too much noise for it.
