Using Vicodin to ease suboxone withdrawals

Some people say 6-12 hours but I have found that if you have been on subs for awhile, (as you obviously have) You
won't feel WD until 72 hours after your last dose.

I'm in the same boat- I'm gonna try the low dose vic regimen...
Sub detox, although not as intense as WD from pills, heroin etc.
is no joke.It just goes on and on and on.

See I am not 12 step , go to meeting and all , but you take tha vicodin it takes your aphaxia, depression and low energy away, yes , however, from pharmacological perspecive even , you have to face that low energy and depression. See as you all may already know, detox is down-regulation or simply reduction of your opiate receptors. In order for that to happen you can not have any opiate in your system since if you take more opiate the receptors are not going to down-regulate!!! See if you take other downers which i do not recomend unless your doctor prescribes, you may be able to get some relif from the symptoms, there are many downers that are none-addictive. At the end of the day, down-regulation of the receptors , Mu, or opiate receptors in this case only happens if you stop putting exogenos opiate in your system. be patient , i know its hard , my pet s been there all of it. only thing that helps in your situation is PATIENCE PATIENCE , not sleeping for 30 nights is worth it, but if you feel anxiety and depression is too much go back and see your doctor and discuss this with him/her. remmember whatever you do, make sure you listen to you doctor and stick to his words , not my words , not AA sponser words , your docs. Jusst ask yourself how many relapses does it take dfor you to finally stop taking percocet , vicocs or whatever opiate agonist you were taking before. I know you hate people saying this but you will never be able to take opiate like you used to again !!! trust me there is alot more to this life than vics, percs and oxys !!!!!! so much more 

This isn't a easy thing that were going through. There's a few things to remember. 1. U have to be a 100% done. "Only u knw" 2. U have to be mentally ready. "Not Easy"
3. Ur not alone, there's millions who suffer. 4. Once u make it past day 4, u will start to see the person that u once were. You'll start to have natural energy, "not pill energy" you gotta be head strong, a fighter. U gotta want this for u, in order to be that man or women that u truthful are. You'll be a better son or daughter. A better parent, a better husband or wife, a better boyfriend or girlfriend, a. Better lover, a better employee. You will even look at life in a whole new way. But u gotta fight the fight & ur only fight yourself. It takes time, it's not a over night fight. Its a good 15-20 days. Just get past day 4 and be MILITARY MINDED, LACE UP

Have you experienced Methadone withdrawl, 180mgs in 7 days, sell your soul ! it would be easier ! Not to dismiss any type of withdrawl ,it is hell !!!

You couldn't be more wrong. Hydrocodone has a half-life of 3.8 hours, don't know WHERE you got 72. Buprenorphine is 37, not 24, and it doesn't matter where it's stored, that has nothing to do with withdrawals. Its not about getting the substance out of your body, its about rebooting your brain's endogenous opioid system.

Sorry, tylenol doesn't TOUCH opiate withdraw...

please bear with me, my head is alittle foggy but heres my situation....I'm on day 8 of sub withdrawal ...Ive had my husband give me 1norco a night to help ease withdrawal and no means given me anymore no matter how much pain I'm in, has anyone done this successfully without prolonging the withdrawal and not getting addicted to opiates again....considering asking my doc for clonidine but read there is a withdrawal with that as well...has anyone experienced that....just don't know how much more of this is could handle it feels unbearable at times.....I'm reading that most people have withdrawal for 15 days before it starts to let up....has anyone experienced less? if so, could you tell me what you did...thanks for listening 

I am pregnant and was advised to stay on it subutex during my pregnancy, because of the harm it could do to my baby. I am having a c section soon and will be taking my last dose of subutex before my surgery. My doc said I will be on high dose pain relievers after. I will not go back on the subutex after the delivery. I really hope that I dont go through withdraw so I can be able to care for my new baby and other small children. I didnt know what I was getting into at all when I started this drug nor did my doctor tell me I could ever become addicted to it. I was on vicodin for a small period of time for an injury to my foot and when the pain was bearable I just stopped taking them and kinda felt like c**p and didnt know why. I had a friend that was on suboxone and told me about it so I went to the doc and started it not knowing at all I was about to start taking something so powerful and addictive. I just thought great I can take something so I dont feel like c**p since i stopped the vicodin. I strongly advise anyone not to take this drug unless you have no other choice. I am terrified to think my baby will go through withdraw because I just didnt do enough research and trusted a physician would not put me on something that addictive, but I was wrong and now my baby may have to suffer because of it. I hope she is ok, and I hope the pain meds help ease my withdraw so I may be able to care for my kids since I will not go back on the subutex and just prolong a nightmare. I feel like this may be my easiest way to be done with it all. Please let me know anyone elses experiences, using a a pain med to kick subutex. I never had a mental addiction is was never about getting high with the vicodin, my body just physically started to depend on them so I feel like I will have total control over this.

No it does not work as I have tried it..Taking an opiate is still covering your receptors. Your receptors are not healing. So going on opiates from subutex or suboxone your basically adding opiates; So when u come off you will be depressed badly. I promise you.

You are very misinformed..If you want to purge out the sub by going on vicodin or something similar then you need to do so for a year. I promise that is the only way it will work the sub out BUT your receptors would still be covered. They will not be healing, so when you come off vic or any opiate you will be madly depressed. I promise u. By taking vics or whatever now your only prolonging it..If you take vics for even 3 months ten you will still have to face withdrawal except BOTH withdrawals-from vics and suboxone/subutex.

There is no way out, that us the price you pay or we pay for choosing to pick up a opiate.

The sub withdrawals last for 6 months, then comes PAWS which last for years and years hence why nobody has ever made it off subs or made it clean or are suffering right now with depression with no jobs, no career, no relatioships, no motivation etc..

It gets hard for those over 22 and if u have taken subs for longer then 2 weeks...More and older u get the more impossible it gets..I promise you this

your crazy I've been o subs for 5 yrs and after 2weeks of hell I started t feel beter. Yeah the depression sticks around about 6mos that's why you needto go to therapy and work out the issues that got u where u were in he first place.

If you can get your hands on pins, or clonidine that will help you threw the first couple of weeks.

I agree!! My dr. had me on it for 10 YEARS!! When she found out I was smoking weed, she said I either go back into group or get off the subs. Day 4 now and I feel like DEATH. Subs saved me from a heroin addiction, but wish I got off wayyyyyy sooner.

Haha Tylenol does NOT help
