Obviously you have never gone through sub withdrawal. I had delusions, couldnt sleep for 12 months, kicking, screaming, panic attacks on a daily basis and overwhelming pain. Im trying to get off again bc I started again 8 yrs ago. Ive been on subs for 8 YEARS! No wonder suboxone called the Devils drug. Dont be so ignorant. Ive gone through voiding withdrawals...piece of cake compared to these poor people trying to better their lives but seeing no end to the tunnel once on suboxone. Do your research...or try it?

There is so much ignorance in this world. Doctors dont even know how to get a person off of of subs.I did it once after 2 years on it....hell. Delusions.Panic attacks. Sleep deprivation for one year following. I could list a million symptoms of wd. Now ive been back on for 8, yes, 8 years and see no light at the end of the tunnel. Im a single mom and cant afford to go through the insane withdrawals that last for years, yes years. The worst part is the drug is very effective and has helped thousands. But how many lives do the withdrawals ruin? Loss of job, income, home...now on antidepressants, mood stabilizers, anti-consultants, tranquilizers, A DHD meds, and still on Suboxone. My insurance is about to cut me off and I cant afford a $400-$500 medication each month.im ready to go on Methadone despite getting hooked on another drug.its hopeless. My life has been both saved and destroyed in a matter of 10 years. DOCTORS NEED TO INFORM THEIR PATIENTS OF WHAT ITS LIKE TO WITHDRAW FROM THIS MEDICATION. AND WHAT ARE THE LONG-TERM EFFECTS? PATIENTS NEED TO DO THEIR RESEARCH. GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL.

hey smart one ive detoxed from oxy, vic and sub. vic is by far the easiest, by faaaaar. before you comment makes sure you have experience with other drugs. just because you went through vicodin withdrawal does not make it the worst.

Awesome! Simply awesome. I've been on them for a couple years at 4mg/day and have 50 vics and I'm DONE. I'm sick of this sh*t. Period. I did it once before this way years ago and then had a shoulder crushed and had to go back on long term pain management but I'm at the stage where I'd rather have the pain back than to lead a life of drug seeking. I'm all over this c**p. Congrats to you. :-)

Hello.

We are conducting short anonymous survey about Suboxone treatment, withdrawal and side effects.

The goal of this survey is gathering real life experiences from you and other people who went through treatment with Suboxone, Subutex or any form of medication that contains buprenorphine/naloxone.

We’ll use your experiences to make an ebook guide in order to help all patients who are currently going through Suboxone treatment, Suboxone withdrawal or who are experiencing side effects.

This anonymous survey won’t take more than 10 minutes of your time, and your answers may help people who are going through hard times on Suboxone.

You can access the survey here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/92QJT98

Thank you,

Billy

Um im sure we've all been through much worse withdrawls then Vicodin. Most of the people on here are using roxy's or heroin . Yeah long term vicodin use then stopping is going to suck just like with any other opiate. But what he is asking is since Vicodin is such a "low grade" opiate than what he is used too do, would taking 2 of them per day to help the suboxone withdrawl help? Once u make it through days 3-7 of sub withdrawl you notice a huge difference in the physical withdrawls.

Had surgery medical problem years ago. Left me addicted to vicoden. Finally I got passed the shame and got help. They put me on suboxone. I have been on suboxone for 2 and a half years. I have asked my doctors to take me off. They won't take me off the suboxone so I weened my self from 4mg to 2mg to approx 1mg. Pills getting to small to cut. Went cold turkey. Last dose of sub was 24 hours before I took a low dose vicoden. The w/D's are awful from the sub. Vicoden is helping. I managed to change my life. I got clean to claim my life back! Not to be stuck on sub's! I have had two immediate family members pass away in the last nine months. If that didn't send me back to using I'm sure a couple of days of help to ease the withdrawls won't. AnywaI would love to get my doctors help however he has cancelled my last three appointments. if I had my choice I would rather withdrwl from vicoden. sub withdrwl is a lot worse.

Opiate replacement therapy works. And here is how: suboxone, methadone, heroin, etc all have a very high binding affinity for the Mu receptor. Other opiods like vicodin, tramadol,Kratom, etc bind less effectively in that order. So for this to work a person would need to taper down their suboxone dose as low as possible .5mg, then switch to a less potent opiate like say vicodin then taper that down to say 2.5 MG per 4 hours, then tramadol at say 25mg per 8 hrs, then Kratom. Those above talking about down regulation are correct except it isn't a zero sum game in regard to natural endorphin/dopamine production. With a ridiculous strong opiate like suboxone yes, your brain can't compete but as you continue this taper your brain will begin to supplement exogenous opiates like Kratom with natural production. This taper should be done as rapidly as possible in order to not risk changes in tolerance.

Taking an opiate to stop Sub withdrawals is the silliest thing I ever heard. Have you ever heard an alcoholic get over their drinking problem by taking shots of whiskey? Why are you on Subs in the first place? Opiate addiction maybe, so you think your going to control your Vicodin or Perc intake huh? If you could have done that you wouldn't have gotten on Subs in the first place. Taper to a low dose of Subs, even .5mg is high, go lower to about .25 and then start adding hours to your dosing, 24 hrs, 25 hrs, 26 hrs and so on. Once you get to about 36 hours skip one day and dose .25mg than skip another day finally stop.

Taking opiates helps with sub withdrawal, not completely though. I did it and I went right back to the subs, so that wasn't a great option for me. Some advice, get a doctor to prescribe you Clonodin. It's just a blood pressure medication, but it hits the same receptors as the subs. Robotussin DM also hits those receptors and even dark chocolate as well. Immodium is a good thing to have handy. Do some research, a lot of vitamins (B-12 or B-complex) will ease the symptoms. There are also some herbs you can take that are capsuled that can help with the leg shakes and creepy crawly skin thing. Goddamn those are my least fav part. Anyway, I'm in the same boat right now. Hope this helps someone get off this f*****g sh*t.
