also after having sex, and then having oral sex i can taste myself on him and it is so bitter. i never let him go down on me anymore.
he asked me what it was and i told him it was just discharge and it was normal, but i cant stand it anymore. i have an appt on tuesday, but i am afraid the dr wont have any answers for me.
i have the murena iud. i am on my 5th year with it and it has to be changed this summer.
i dont think that is what it is though, i never had this issue with my previous boyfriend.
this is a weird thought, but maybe me and my boyfriend are not sexually compatable, and when our juices get together it makes this horrible mess??? i really hope not, and im really looking for an answer.
i will mention this site to my dr, and i will write back if i get an answer.
I just had my Mirena replaced, I am really hoping that isn't why I have this (because of the hormones) but I can't risk having a baby.
I am really hoping someone can figure this out.
I don't think its stress incontinence. That is when you have trouble holding your pee, and I have no problems with that.
So it seems like we all suffer from the same thing, that isn't one of the "regular diagnosis", and that our doctors are either unable or unwilling to help us get rid of this. I just want to be normal again. :(
I did and it works for me. Give it a try.
Ok ladies. First of all, I'm an ob/gyn nurse. Secondly a 45yr old with grown kids and very sexually active my whole life. I just wanted to let everyone know that an acidic taste/odor to a vagina is very NORMAL! Espeically if you're nearing your period. Eating red meats, smoking, alcohol, onions, garlic, asparagus and other stronger foods will affect the smell and taste of your vagina.
Always check with your doctor first to rule out the possibility of any type of infections. If your tests are all negative then your va jay jay may just be normally acidic.
Yeast is easier to spot due to the white discharge and itching. Bacterial vaginosis usually has a more foul odor. Fishy type as well as itching. If you experience any itching especially after sex - you may have a bacterial infection. Also the odor is worse after sex. They're not always easy to detect in the beginning. Research home remedies for bacterial vaginosis because if you are prescribed antibiotics from your doctor such as metrodonizal (flagyl) you're likely to get a yeast infection as a side effect of the antibiotic. Since it kills all the good bacterial and disrupts the good bacteria/yeast balance and allows the yeast to take over.
There is a new product on the market that is awesome! A bit pricey but very worth it. It's called RePHresh Pro-B. You can purchase it at a drug store or wal-mart. It reduces yeast and bacteria to maintain feminine health. One pill a day.
Prevention: During sex we usually participate in foreplay. This may include his mouth during oral sex as well as his fingers then of course his penis. Here's something to think about..... Where do odors come from? Mouth odor, foot odor, armpit odor, "sweaty balls", genital odor?? It's all from BACTERIA. When he inserts a finger that has touched anything from money, houshold items, the dog, etc he's picking up bacteria on his finger. If you want to avoid as much bacteria entering your vagina as possible always have your mate shower, brush his teeth and wash his hands before sex.
Have a new partner and don't want to make him feel like you're accusing him of being dirty? Try to something like "We've been out dancing or in the hot sun or....(whatever makes ya sweat), I'd love to have a little fun lets wash up so we're both pleasant for each other"
Now, if you're too acidic for your or your partners liking there ARE things you can do to change the taste. First of all, we all know water does a body good. Secondly, pineapple juice makes your womanly fluids taste sweeter. I always buy the Dole 100% pure pineapple juice. Do not get juice cocktails or juice flavored. Make sure it's pure pineapple juice. If you're eating alot of onions, garlic or asparagus - expect your womanly juices to taste not so good.
Highly recommend you to do the same!
(Eating yogurt is always advised to keep vaginal balance, why not put the specific cultures right in there?)
