I had a historectomy 5 years ago for endometriosis they left me one overy but I still went right into menapause. This has been going on for me since post op. Never had this problem before my surgury. I have tried everything I can think of. Antibiotics were tried first on and off for 8 months after surgery. Next was vaginal hormones and that worked right away so I have continued to take hormones then I tried transdermal hormones, that seemed to work as well for a couple of years but when I try to get off of the hormones it would always return right away making sex a challenge. I changed to bio identical hormones transdermal (Safer I think) and that worked for a year but suddenly it returned so I went back to the vaginal bio identical but the soreness and sex pain have continued.
I went to my GP last month and he discovered boils at the bottom of the entrance to my vagina and a yellow discharge and thought it may be herpies (ouch) I have been married to the same guy for 30 years, no hanky panky exept with him. so my GP put me on herpies meds and told me I should see results right away if that is the cause. however there was no change with the meds now he has given me a choice of going to see a dermatoligist or having a biopsy done. I do not know what I should do? Any body out there with a problem like this? Any ideas?
OK!!! I'm NOT a doctor, but I think I know more about your vagina that this "Doctor" does! You don't have herpes for crying out loud!!!! You have a cyst called a Bartholin Cyst! It is just inside the opening of your vagina, and is usally p***y and painful - making sex virtually impossibl! It comes from the Bartholin Gland - like a big pore in you vaginal lining - when it gets blocked with lubrication either from yourself or your husband it starts out like a pimple or pimpls and can actually grow to the size of a grown mans fist!!!! Most of the time the puss will drain - with movement or pressure, but most of the time it needs to be squeezed out!

With respect to other problems with sex, our brain is our biggest sex organ, so when it has been used to PAIN from sex! Then it starts anticipating the pain! So it can actually make you TENSE and then you have lack of lubrication! My gynecologist told me that my vagina/brain saw my husband as the enemy! Which TOTALLY makes sense!

When you have a cyst, it takes extra cleansing and extraction! So first get a container of Epsom Salts, and a bottle of hydrogen peroxide! You need to take as warm as possible bath, and then the water should cover your thighs pour in 4 cups of Epsom Salts, and just soak! While you are in the bath, try and press on either side of the cysts VERY gently! IF nothing comes out don't worry and leave it!! When you get out and everytime you go to the bathroom, get a squirt bottle and fill it with very warm water, and about 2 tblsps of HP! Squirt it on the area - keeping it clean - keep trying to press the area so the puss will come out! If it works GREAT! IF it doesn't or grows, you need to be put on antibiotics - to get rid of the infection! NOT HERPES Meds!!! 8-|

I hope this works for you, please let me know OK? Good luck and health!
