I'm so happy I came across this. It's been 3 days since my biobsy and I've experienced skin like discharge
I think it's just the reaction from the vinegar-based spray they use. It reacts with the delicate skin and makes it shed in the spots that are sprayed. It only lasted a few days and have never had anything since.
Thank goodness for this forum. I just had my colp and biopsy two days ago. My doc told me there'd be coffe ground like discharge and soreness, but I started experiencing some weird fleshy clots that freaked me out, like the large one that fell on my foot in the shower after sneezing. WTF? I searched and found my way here. Thanks so much for sharing because now I know what else to expect. I still have some metallic smell, but I think that's from the iron or something. And I'm just starting my period (I feel the back cramps already) so this should be an experience. Why don't they give you a "what to expect after your colposcopy and biopsy" pamphlet after your procedure with all the gross c**p that's going to come out so you don't freak out? Yes, it is disgusting, but I'd rather be informed that think I'm birthing an alien in the shower. Holy cripes.
OMG when you sneezed?!^ lmao yeah, that would freak me out. This happened to me after hiking. I had the coffee grind discharge beforehand, but when I came back there was this mucus plug thing attached, and had just been working out (after not eating any yogurt for a few days and a delicious onion filled burger the night before, so hello onion vag) and I was freaking out because I'm so used to that during my period (but obv, you know, bloodier!) that I just wiped and threw it in the toilet. Then later I couldn't remember if that was supposed to happen, and if the /discharge/ was smelly, or just me, and phew! Thank you ladies. I feel much better. I was afraid I had ripped the scar off or lost a plug protecting the lady bits farther upstairs or something. *BIG BREATH OF RELIEF* what a beautiful vagina powered world we live in! :D
Hi after reading what's going on feel I little better as just been freaking out my self but not found anyone who's said same as what's just happened to me had my biopsy 6 days ago and only had a very little light brown discharge not had any bleeding or clots till now but it was a slimy and grey in Colour looking abit like the grey shiny skin you get on fish it's alarmed me but should I panic or do you think it's the gel which a few people have said
I had my procedure about 4 days ago, I have had this gnarly smell and suddenly I feel symtoms similiar to a yeast infection or bv..

Me too! I just had the procedure, and was FREAKING OUT! lol
The metallic smell is from ferric subsulfate solution (Monsel's paste), orange cream for prevention bleeding. It also make a paper-look sheet like white school glue on palms. Smell will gone when all pieces go out.
Right now I finished taking a shower and I was cleaning my vagina and all of sudden I see a brownish hard brown ball that smells like poop came out I got really scared , for a second I thought it was poop
Just had a colonoscopy and 3 cervical biopsies today and i too am passing glandular looking things and brownish looking pieces of vaginal tissue....my vagina hurts so bad.....

Totally agree. I felt like I knew more then my Dr. Am I supposed to have to ask about follow up instructions or aren't you supposed to tell me. Good thing I did research before I went or I never would've known. Thank god for the internet
I had my colposcopy done almost a week ago and I still have a little smell down there no matter how much I wash ,I also have the same dark blackish clumps when I go to the bathroom it's kinda scary
I had my colposcopy on 5/4/16. All of my pap smears have been done while I've been in the military. So it's safe to say I have a tough skin when it comes to getting paps done. I was advised of the brown discharge and that's it. Fast forward to today in the shower. After washing my face I being cleaning my body downward and freak out because I thought a water bug or cockroach had gotten into the shower with me since I live in a tropical region. So I watch it flat to the drain. However after washing my lady parts I have one sitting in my wash cloth. Then I began investigating the black bean looking thing that had a membrane around it. It was filled with coffee grounds in addition to the brain like matter also being discharged.
Funny thing is, I have been going through pure hell since having a Mirena IUD inserted last fall. The cramping and discharge I had from that prepared me for the discharge following the colposcopy.
