Years ago I had the heavy head problem....I went to all kinds of doctors and chiro...but it definitely turned out to be depression...it went away right after I went on the antidepressants.

Hope it helps.

Dear all, please go get your vitamin D levels checked. Vitamin D and the calcium which it helps you to absorb are heavily involved in effective neurological and muscular function as well as being associated with mood levels and anxiety. It is important to realise that the body is a complicated inter-related system - for me low vitamin d led to low bone mineral density in my spine and hip, muscle weakness (= heavy head) muscle tension compressing nerves in my neck and then causing daily headaches and tingling in fingers. Also depression and anxiety on a grand scale. If I take vitamin D (and calcium) and get sports massage therapy for muscle tension compressing nerves I am a different person altogether. Oh and for those of you who are female - oestrogen and vitamin D work in tandem so if you are approaching menopause or even during your cycle you will notice an increase in symptoms.

I have been a member for 7 or 8 years. Although it has only been recently when I push on my neck trying to get the lymph system moving have I noticed that when I push on my neck I feel the exact motion of feeling like my legs are moving or dizziness. I too have had an mri of my head mri of back eeg sinus surgery wisdom teeth pulled. Getting tired of spending money for nothing. Trying upper cervical care.

I will say this first before I tell the rest.

If a doctor, or anyone else for that matter, tells you that you do not feel what you feel, WALK AWAY!!! DROP THEM LIKE A HOT POTATO! I still have some family that I don't speak to because of their attitude. It is not all in your head...ok, mine was...litterally! Always take your care into your own hands and if a doctor does not treat you the way you deserve to be treated WALK AWAY!! Ok, so I tend to tell off the doctor as my lily white butt WALKS AWAY, but that's just me. It's totaly optional! Just because I check that option box doesn't mean yu have to, I just find that it makes me feel better after explaining to them in detail just exactly what I think of them and how their ignorance and stupidity are harming their patients. But that option is totally up to you!

I had these issues (WILL ALWAYS HAVE SOME OF THEM) and was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation. It's the herniation of brain tissue. It may also cause headaches, balance problems, nerve damage. Syringomeiia is associated, also Spina Bifida Occulta (occult means hidden) and tethered spinal cord. I ignored the diagnosis because the only treatment is brain surgery. Now, I'm disabled because of it. It took 7 years to convince me (after passing out in the road, falling almost breaking my leg, and other c**p) to get the surgery done. During that time however I found out that my spinal cord was tethered so had that taken care of too. I really wish I had done it all while I was healthy enough to bounce back from it. I still have two kids to take care of (yep, got divorced, as soon as he figured out he would have to take care of a disbled wife...yep, my mom called him the devil, he just may be. LOL) and disability is NOT ENOUGH! I'm trying to stress here that ANYONE with health issues should get themselves diagnosed BEFORE it's too late!!!!!!

One of the reasons that I ignored it is that I just got frustrated going to doctor after doctor that asked, "Chiari what? What's that?" I can't tell you how many Drs. I left sitting in their exam rooms after saying something so completely ignorant like that! I had headaches since I was 8 but my mother was told by doctors that I was faking them for attention. Yeah, pain so bad I'm throwing up from it is FAKING IT!!! I also, much later, got misdiagnosed with migraines and took unnecessary medication that made me pass out a couple of times for 5 years!

Someone mentioned getting a cervical MRI...DO IT! I do have to warn you though, my first MRI did not show the Chiari malformation, or I should say that I can't confirm it wasn't just looked over since the films got "lost in the mail."

Dr. Bolognese and Dr. Milhorat at The Chiari Institute saved my life.  Dr. B explained to me that Chiari is like an iceburg. The symptomatic people are what you see floating on top of the water with many many more either non-symptomatic people or mis-diagnosed people hidden underneath. Don't be in the dark anymore get yourself diagnosed properly (with whatever it turns out to be) and get help from support groups! I LOVE MY GROUPS!

Wow! I am exactly the same! It's almost as if I posted this myself! TRUST me! You are not alone! And to make stuff worse... it feels like you are the only one on the planet that has 'this'. I tried so many times to explain this to people but they look at me like I am weird. I also went for acupuncture, Chiropractor (everything, you name it). But this weird (and funny dizzy) heavy heady feeling is even here while I am typing. Is it anxiety? What's going on?
