I think this is Visual looming syndrome
Visual looming syndrome it gets a bit better with eye muscle exercises
HOLY COW THIS MAKES SO MUCH SENSE, I’ve had this for soooo long it stresses me out. For about a month or so it hit me really bad and I couldn’t sleep because the second I closed my eyes I had REALLY vivid nightmares of basically anything stabbing my eyes. I cried a lot as it was starting to really affect my social life and everything but when I tell people about it now they just reply “ummmmmm okay”. I can’t deal with check ups at the optometrists, it just doesn’t go well, with the whole machine thing where they flash a massive light in one eye at a time and it triggers me so bad. What you said about it being caused by something traumatic happening to an eye in your childhood... ho-ly fu*k. There is this one very strong memory I have when I was probably 7??? My parents were watching some kinda doctors show and I walked in halfway through to see a lady have bloody eye surgery. There was a needle in her eye and everything, I never forgot, especially the night mare I had that night. It explains a lot. I’m so happy I found this page, I thought I was being crazy or stupid before I discovered that other people have the same thing.
I try to stay as far as possible from people holding a knife.
Also, these past months I have hesitated to do ANYTHING that requires a sharp object ( but usually I was needed to to it so I keep my head as away from my hands as possible)
If I need to cut someting I put the scissors down as soon as possible and get away from them.
I often imagine myself stabbing my eye ( which is uncontrollable)
Ah.... And besides all of this I also have other psychological problems
