Wow! I am an 88-year female and about 20 yrs ago I had a strange twitching in my left side near the area of the spleen & kidney. It would twitch about 30 seconds, then reoccur in several minutes, then would be gone for weeks at a time. It would reoccur and repeat the process in as much as 3-month intervals then repeat itself. by the end of the 1st year, it occurred in a stronger force than by twitching.
At this point we (my doctor and specialist & I went on a witch hunt for causes. Upper & lower GI's, any heart screening available, MRI''s, Cat Scans--- Diagnosis? Possible Pinched Nerve Now 20 yrs later, will be free for as many as 3 years but when it does reoccur it has certainly increased in density. & can last 2-3 weeks before it disappears again. Still no answer. .

I have been having this same feeling. I actually started feeling this sensation on my left shoulder blade. Then I also started having it on my upper left rib cage. I get the one in my shoulder blade from time to time and it's not that irritating, but the one on my rib cage drives me insane. Hope someone has found out what this is :(

But the liver is on the right side of the abdomen not the left lol.
Must say finding a fatty liver was just a coincidence rather than going tge cause of that flutter. Avoiding alcohol and fatty foods just means you're less gassy now therefore taking care of the flutter. My two cents...

Went to the dr today for the same thing! I was told it is a muscle twitching, I thought the spleen as well but the spleen has no muscle to cause movement.

Hello, guest.
While it's not possible to provide a definitive answer without a thorough examination and potentially further testing, there could be various potential causes for your symptoms. It's possible that the movement you're feeling could be related to gastrointestinal or abdominal issues, such as muscle spasms, digestive disturbances, or changes in organ function.
The spleen is an organ located in the upper left side of the abdomen, beneath the rib cage. It plays a role in filtering blood and supporting the immune system, but it's important to note that spleen-related issues typically present with specific symptoms such as pain or tenderness in the left upper abdomen, left shoulder pain, or signs of an enlarged spleen.
Have you been to the doctor yet to have it checked?
