how is your blood pressure? Carotid artery? make sure you get your blood pressure check. Ear pressure can come from the inner ear also, not just the middle ear.(where your eardrum and EUstachian tube are located)

I have gone through this almost word for word. Except i am about to turn 48 years old and in my 3rd year with no relief. I've had a ear pressure for about 5 months now (both ears), and a few months ago I also started to feel that my throat is "thicker". I've been to the doctor two times so far and they can't seem to find anything. I tried nasonex for 6 weeks after my first visit but it did not help at all.
I've a new appointment in 1 month, but I'm going insane over this. I've a hard time working, concentrate or do anything. The only time I dont feel it as much is when I'm in bed or eating. So for the last months I've mostly just worked and stayed in bed.
I'm so frustrated that the doctors does not seem to take this condition serious, I can't live like this. :(

It's my right ear and the pressure comes and goes as well. Also, this is crazy on some inclement weather days, I catch hell. A med pitch ring and tightness within the inner ear canal. At times dizziness but that comes and goes as well. I'm not sure what's this all about but it can become extremely overwhelming.

I agree completely with this post. I have had this issue for awhile. Sometimes when I move my head in a strange position I can really feel the pressure by my ear. Taking a decongestant seems to help somewhat, but is not long term. I am convinced it is swelling in the sinuses. One way I check, is when you hold your nose, try to inflate your ears. As if sending air there. You should be able to hear your ears pop. If not, or if very little, you know they are swollen.
I have had the same issue for over a year now in my left ear and I have tried everything .Sometimes it gets a bit better but then comes back with a vengence .ENT has given up on trying to figure it out .One weird thing is when I put my hand or a telephone receiver over my right ear it gives relief in my left ear !
Have you tried going to the dentist?
If you grind your teeth at night, you might have what's called TMJ.
This could be what's causing the pressure since the jaw bone is so close to the "ear anatomy".
It's an easy fix: a mouth guard.

I have had lots of ear pressure and I have been researching. They say it could be swollen tonsils. I have had bad tonsils for a long time.and for some reason nobody ever seems to be able to diagnose something that has to do with the tonsils I don't know why they always overlook it so maybe you guys can check it out.
