Hello to you too. Esophageal cancer indeed needs some diet restrictions. After the surgery, your friend will be on intravenous feeding. This will last for a month. After a while, he will have smaller portions of food. He will also be on soft food – food that is easy for swallowing. Those are soups, poundings, ice creams, etc. He will avoid alcohol, cigarettes, spicy food and similar things for the rest of his life. I hope this helps. Good luck!
