My doctor confirmed I had Bacterial Vaginosis and was prescribed Nidagel. I had to take it twice a day for a 5 day treatment. It's been about 5 days after the treatment, and I still have brownish gel like discharge still coming out. It's not a lot, just a few times a day when I use the washroom and wipe. Is this normal? is this part of the treatment?
Hi there! I found that discharge is quite common unwanted effect when using Nidagel, so it's just a part of your treatment. That doesn't need a special medical attention, I believe. Or maybe you're due for your period soon so you're having some normal premenstrual discharge.
Thanks for the reply. I was hoping it was part of the treatment. It's not premenstrual discharge as I'm 7 weeks pregnant. I have a doctor's appointment coming up, but wanted some reassurance so I don't stress too much about it.
Oh, I'm glad to hear that :-) It is not uncommon to experience a brown discharge during pregnancy, many women have had some kind of discharge right through the first trimester. Your body is getting rid of the older blood remains. I'm sure your doctor will take good care of you and your baby. Take care. :-)
