I was just wondering when the best time and how many times a day you should take protein shakes. I used to take a scoop of promax every 3 hours several times a day and found that I gained more fat than muscle!.

the best times are within 30 minutes of working out or when you first wake up. Protein is essential for rebuilding muscle, and your muscles are generally shredded after you exercise, so I think that's the ideal time to take it, and stick to a healthy breakfast in the morning
