I drink periodically every 3 to 7 days. But when I drink I drink about 14-20 beers. I too have had bleedingand its always light and it doesnt happen every time I drink. It usually is slight leackage around the third or fifh day of not drinking and it lasts for just once! Hmm. It'll clear up for sure on the 6th day and is gone entirely. i notice when I do drink its when I have a couple cans of that cheap malt ghetto beer that costs $1.00 for 24 ounces. This beer is strong and doesnt even taste good but I am chasing the effect on a limited budget. I too have had my liver enzymes checked and they are ok but I have a gallbldder problem. I do suffer from anal leackage from dinking but usually theres no blood in it. Once again, if I don't drink for 6 or 7 days my symptoms clear up ENTIRELY! So the lesson is to quit drinking. My problem is I need to get away from stress and unwind and relax. Hence, I drink.

I love the people on here that say alcohol has nothing to do with it when there is example after example of people saying alcohol triggered the bleeding. It may not be the cause of the bleeding but it is definitely a trigger.
This started for me when I was in my late 20s/early 30s. It used to only happen occasionally but now if I have even 1 drink, later that night or the next morning, I am raw and bleeding. Not internally because it is clearly bright red and you see it on the TP after just wiping lightly. (This is such a disgusting topic BTW, lol).
I've found that putting hydrocortisone on the anus really helps. I've tried Preperation H, bacitracin, zinc, cortisone, etc. The hydrocortisone works the best I found... usually helps clear up the symptoms in about 2-3 days. Without it, this could last for a couple weeks as every time you wipe, it aggravates the area again.

Also, just found this about alcohol and hemorrhoids... I think it is definitely hemorrhoid related.
Alcohol and Hemorrhoids
There is a link between alcohol and hemorrhoids. Those who drink excessively will usually experience problems with their bowel movements. This is because alcohol acts as a diuretic, which means that it dehydrates the drinker. A person who is dehydrated may subsequently become constipated, and they will need to strain when opening their bowels. Binge drinking can also raise blood pressure, which in turn adds pressure to the veins in the anal area. Alcoholism leads to alcoholic liver disease, and this also increases the likelihood of developing hemorrhoids.
The most useful line in there to me is this one... Binge drinking can also raise blood pressure, which in turn adds pressure to the veins in the anal area.
I think this is what is going on with me. Only I don't have to binge, just a couple of drinks do it for me.

I recently broke my ankle and have been on pain medication. i did not drink while on the meds but now that i am recently off i have been drinking again. i started taking vitamins last week to strengthen my bones ( calcium, lysine and D3) once a day.
yesterday i had pain in my rectum and thought it was a hemoroid, had a little blood on toilet paper. then this morning i wake up with the pain and i went #2 and lots of blood filled the toilet! its happened twice this morning so far. freaking me out! never happened to me before. i did drink a lot last night. but i am REALLY interested in other peoples posts about vitamins+alcohol maybe having something to do with this... because that is the only thing that is different in my life right now. hmmmm...

Gluten can be an additional cause of bowel inflamattion and bleeding as well. Some times taking 3-6 months of gluten and alcohol can cure you enough to have an occasional drink

Alcohol eats away at the inner lining of your intestines, all the way from the mouth to the anis.

it is indeed the alcohol. It is irritating hemorrhoids you have high up in your intestines due to being dehydrated from drinking. You may not feel them, but they do definitely bleed when irritated with more alcohol. It's best to cut down or stop all together.
