Hello,
I would like to inquire about a really scary experience i have been having after smoking a bit of weed. I get a feeling of cold, so cold I can throw on sweaters and a down coat and get under a down blanket and not sweat for awile but rather feel I need that much clothes to get rid of the freezing feeling. I do wonder what is going on in my body during those times and i would love to get some feeedback. THANKS.

One you dont need to be smoking weed because it is not legal and it is not good for you! And two you could be having a bad reation but one thing you probably dont know is if you have any kind of bad reaction then you shouldnt do it again bc it can cause serious problems!!!!!!

haha funny fact. there have been no documented cases of death caused directly by pot. however i don't smoke it and don't condone it.. it does effect everyone differently so it is probably just how your body react to it.

sorry i can't offer more advice

Well i've heard of getting the sweats, but never the opposite! I guess one explanation could be the effects of smoking weed and smoking in general on the blood flow around the body.

I am in no way a medical expert, however, is it not true that smoking constricts the blood? If this is the case, then eventually the blood flow around the body will slow done, thus making you feel colder. I would hazard a guess that the best way to overcome this is to be more physically active throughout the day!

Don't no if this is of any help. As i have mentioned, i'm no medical expert and this is merely my opinion. :$

thank for the responses.
i am new here so i thought maybe there were medical experts to respond also.
If so, i should probably add that I had my thyroid gland burnt away several years ago by the "experts" who treated my hypo-thyroidism with radioactive iodine. I figure since the thyroid is considered the "thermometre" of the body, maybe that is why I get these kinds of chills. I should add it isn't all the time I smoke pot only when I am very tired.
The point about pot being illegal and that I shouldn't be smoking, it is well taken. I agree, I struggle to just stop weed. I know people who use it "medically" but are chronic ( I don't really agree with this). I do it still as it has become a bit of a crutch. I have been using a harm reduction approach and have been cuttting down gradually. My goal ultimately is to stop completely because I don't agree with the idea of ingesting smoke on purpose and I need to be able to explain to my kids why smoking is a bad choice and I won't accept to be a hypocrite with my girls (ie. can't tell them not to smoke when I do). They are getting older so the time for me to be clean is approaching . . .
thanks for listening, Dave

Well i didnt mean to offend you when i said what i said and it doesnt seem that you took it offensive. But my advice is you should try to get into some kind of help like a group with smokers. Im not sure if thet have them around where you live but you could look into it. I mean you have children and what if there was an emergency with one of your children and you are to high and not in the right state of mind to be there father. There is alot of things at stake with your habit here and you just need to think about that!!!!!

Good point teen mom. Actually I have my kids part time and I don't indulge when I have my girls. I must say though, you have a good point because I dread the thought of causing my daughters to have to grieve their dad. That would really suck because I mean the world to them!! So that is my main motivation to take care of my health. I have other addictions I need to solve too like my addiction to white flour and sugar!!

@ epicurien2 - You have already taken the first step in admitting that you know you have a problem and this is a huge and positive step.

I myself was smoking weed recreationally for 15 years and unfortunately i was in a job where i didn't really have to worry too much about money. Hence i smoked more and more everyday.

I note you mention other addictions you have too. I can confirm that this is a common theme. I believe i have a highly addictive personality and found that it is easy for me to get "hooked" on other things too.

Dependant on how much and how often you smoke will have a great bearing on how you give up. My main 3 tips to try and help you stop smoking weed would be:-

1) Set a specific date to stop. Don't believe that you just stop once you finish your current stash. Us reefer addicts tend to rush through finishing our current baggy in the hope that we will give up straight afterwards. However, that never happens, you end up buying more and then once again rushing through it and convincing yourself that you will give up after this bag! A vicious circle you could say! So by cutting down gradually you are doing the best thing. Just set a date in the future, say 1st of Feb for example as the date you completely stop!

2) Lose all your drug goodies - Like most smokers, i'm sure you have a section of the house that contains papers, lighters, pipes, bongs, roach material...whatever. Just throw them all out!

3) You're in a good position here - usually if you smoke weed, even though you are often alone, it is considered a social drug. No matter how supportive your friends are, you cannot physically force them to give up with you. There will always be tempatation. You need to get away from these guys and possibly find new friends and new habits. However, for you...you have your wonderful children to concentrate your efforts on.

Cheers Sam

Weed is in fact legal for recreational use in many states and has been approved for medical use in many more states. teenmom17131552 is not in touch with current facts and should not be offering advice other than her own children. Bad advice can cause serious problems and should not be provided.

Offs.

Depending on the strain and amounts of THC and CBC it could be acting as a vasodilator. It’s the weed chills. Not harmful at all. After all, no one has EVER died from marijuana.
