Hi
I've done 2 half marathons and a few long distance runs (~10m) so far.
Each time a few hours after the race and the next few days, the joints between my hip bone and my leg bones (sorry don't know the correct names) hurts.
It hurt when I walk or run but ok if I'm not moving.
Is this common or just me? how can I recover quicker? and when can I start to train again after the race/long run?
I can run 10k without hurting afterward, I think only after about 7-8m it will start hurting.
Any advice appreciated.
Thanks
Andy

it sounds like a contracted tfl. it's kinda hard to explain its location, but it's visible on this picture. sounds like you need to massage that muscle and then do some hip stretches regularly before and after your runs.
could also be a tight piriformis or glute muscle. massage first and then gentle stretching might be all that's needed to keep that specific pain away. i'd try to get to the bottom of it if i were you, it will most likely lead to other muscle tension/contraction in your lower half.
