Is that your pulse when you're sitting or standing? I've had my pulse that high many times, but only when I was standing, climbing stairs, or doing some type of physical activity.
I've had the same problem and I think it is related to diet. Try including more potassium in your diet to see if it ever comes back. Potassium regulates your heart rate and if you don't get enough, it can cause an irregular heart beat.

I'm 17 years old and i have the same problem as well.On a normal day I'd be sitting around doing no activity and suddenly i feel this stab in my heart and it races so fast i feel as if something is punching me. This would last ypto 5 seconds. I'm a lil overweight btw..
I have been having this same problem for over 2 years now. It happens mostly after I eat. Sometimes I can eat the same meal days later and it doesn't happen. I have been to cardiologist several times and they have ran many tests and ive worn a holter monitor but they say its nothing. I sometimes feel irregular beats sometimes as well especially when i but only when I breathed in deep. And ive noticed too if i get up before 10am i most of the time have the irregular beats for hours. So i have to stay up late so i can sleep till 10 or 11. Kinda sucks but the irregular beats scare me. The doctors say my heart is healthy but i dunno.. I have one child and got high bp while pregnant and it has stuck with me but is under control with meds. I am over weight and want to lose but scared to do any exercise because i dont like the feel of the rapid heartbeats or irregularities. Any info on this would help because the drs say its anxiety or acid reflux.. idk
Hi,
I am almost 45 years old. I have had tachycardia for almost 10 years now. The first time I found out I had it I bent down to pick up something off the floor and when I stoop up my heart hit my chest like someone punched me.. then my heart best went up to 211 beats a minute. I was working in a hospital at the time and was lucky enough someone told me to cough. when I did my heart rate went to normal but then I had a panic attack. I have had panic attacks since then and my tachycardia hasn't got any better.
I went into a bad episode with my tachycardia and I had to call the ambulance , when they arrived They had me lay down after not being able to cough it out. They give me a IV and placed medication in it to slow down my heart. In the mean time they had paddles on my chest just in case my heart stopped. Scared me to death.
I am not sure how tachycardia starts, weather it's from stress or anxiety or both. But I am on beta blockers now and to scared to step out of my own house. I hardly drive anymore and stopped working all together.
I have never had it that bad. I am sorry that you are having that problem and its that bad. I am not sure how it starts either. I sometimes will have a panic attack if I feel my heart beat weird and it just makes it worse. Any time I feel my heart start to beat weird or fast i will cough and then hold my breath and bare down and most of the time it works but i hate doing it cause it makes it feel like it is fixing to stop. I take metoprolol and benicar everyday but no change. Some days I can do anything and some I cant, thats why I dont think its my heart because why one day I will be fine and the next have the issues with the weird heart beats and fastness?? My fiance tells me its all in my head and aint nothing wrong with me, but I guess if i drop dead then he will see that just because he cant feel it doesn't mean its not there. I feel like an id**t discussing my problems with ya'll but ya'll are the only ones who knows what this feels like and does to a person.. Thanks for keeping up the chats. If anyone would like to email me to keep in touch, Thanks

Hi I am i the same situation, low iron (already had iron infusion ) mine is around 140. I am 42 on medication, which has been unavailable for a while hope to receive it today, as have not had since 5 days ago and feeling yuck All the best for you
mine races after i eat, so i dread eating. im scared one day it will stop
My daughter started getting a racing heart around age 10. It turns out it was Lyme disease and this was the only symptom besides being very tired. We never would have expected it because it was winter. Fortunately, we have a great pediatrician. After extensive monitoring from the cardiologist he basically said this is the new norm and many people live with this all their lives. Now at 14, she still gets a racing heart and I am still trying to find something we can do at home to calm it down. My daughter does not get enough sleep, is very thin and can be stressed at times. I will say the idea of Gatorade or something like it is probably a good idea. We are going to give it a try.
My daughter is 23 years old, does not smoke, drink tea, coffee or alcohol and from the moment she gets up in the morning even before she gets out of bed her heart races to 145.During the day it can go as high as 188.Doctor says her heart is okay and she must be anxious. She does not have the mentality to be anxious as she has the mental age of a 8 year old. She is falling asleep during the day and wants to go to bed at 5.30pm.She has had a 24 hour urine test to check hormone levals and that came back ok,had a thyroid test that came back clear.I think they are just saying she is anxious because they do not know.Surley her heart going so fast every day will one day just wear out
Really i dont think it will just give out, because what happens when people exercise everyday? their heart speeds up, so i think as long as it dont go higher than that she should be okay.. mine has gone to 144 and im stil here and its been like 3 years that ive had this problem.. drs say its anxiety so i dont know
What I do to slow my racing heart is to hold my breath and bare down like imma poo and i do it a couple times then it goes away.. it does feel weird like your heart will stop because u are holding ur breath and it makes it slow really down but ive always done it and it works pretty good for me.. good luck with that.. I know how scary and stressing it is
I also have gerd and my heart beats fast after eating and also feels like it is beating a extra beat. I wonder if it is the gerd.I take Omeprazole for the gerd and that can deplete you of magnesium. Also it beats fast when I see the doctor out of fear because he always wants to send me for test for digestions problems, and I wonder what they will find each time I go for these tests. White coat syndrome makes my heart beat fast! I had a PVC show up on a 24hr.heart monitor.Low magnesium can cause symptoms with your heart maybe.
Also the Vagus nerve can cause this.
