Hello dear, i had the same problem my eye lashes were so light and i feel so bad even i ignoring the families function, college parties and outing with friends because of this only. Many people tease me for this making fun of this. I visitied many doctors and tried many medicines and homemade remedies for regrowth of my eyelashes but no results. I pull my eyelashes out :(. It usually starts with a feeling of tingling or slight burning in the area and then I yank on them and inevitably in the exact spot the feeling was, one comes out. Like everyone says, it definitely gets worse with stress! I have tried a number of ways to grow them back but I haven't had any luck -one expensive liquid product actually made my eyelashes fall out!! I feel like if I were to find something that actually works, I would have the incentive I need to stop pulling them out all together -so on that note, any suggestions??

My daughter started picking her eyelashes when she was about 9 she is 10 now and has stopped the habit. It started because she was stressing out about school and friendships. She's a smart girl, but also the youngest in her grade. It was hard for her to stop, but with constantly telling her to stop and making her, she finally did. Her eyelashes and eyebrows have grown back very nicely. Give it time and work at it and they will grow back. No therapy, no creams or ointments, just persistence and love.

hey ,i suffer from this addiction too,i am 11 years old .I started when i was 7 ,my mum calls me stupid for doing it .I pull my eyelashes and once,i left them to grow and it worked half of them grew back .But one evening i felt a big urge to pull like mad .and i did when i looked at my self in the mirror i felt horrible.I wished i could control that urge.i pull on my top lid but not my bottom.In the morning when my mum saw she went for me ,she hit me....my mum who i love so much,does not make it any better for me.If she understood what it was like she would realise how much she makes me hate myslef ....she says that she does not belive it is a disorder she recons that is all to do with self control .AT some degree i do agree but I cannot help the way i am .

Wow we are kinda in the same situation. My mum makes fun of me for it but no one has ever really blackmailed me with it. No one in my family actually knows that this is a disease that it is not really my fault. In fact it was partly my mothers fault. One day, she just told me to help her pull out a white hair from her hair because she hated seeing it. After i help her with her white hair, i decided to experiment with mine and since then i have not stopped pulling. It is almost 4 yrs since i started pulling my hair. I am really scared it will not grow back. I want you to understand though that this is not your fault. What i mean to say is that it has something to do with the brain but it is still not your fault. I happens with every one with trich. Your brain is what gives u that urge to pull because it has become a habit. If u really want to stop i suggest that you air your hair everyday and keep it dry because for me damp hair usually itches me which causes me to pull. Try taking a picture of you bald spot. And whenevr u have the urge to pull, look at the picture (most times it makes me cry) it does help in stopping pulling. take care!

hey im currently ehh 12 yrs old and i started when i was 10 and i had no idea so many people did this no one has noticed though exept my mom and she makes me feel bad about it and it makes me want to do it even more!!! >=[ kinda mad bout that and i hate the habit its just so addicting i hope whoever reads this please dont become addicted to it, it is horrifying to see your self in the mirror and see the ugly that is your eyes i have counted only 22 eyelashses on my right eye please whoever else that does this we need to stop our eyes can get infected and can be ugly forever. My mom says to me Quote "eyelashes can only grow back 3 times before they never grown again" I hope sh is false becaus if shes right im screwd screwd screwd LOL hehe well if anyone know if thats true please notify me or reply to this comment because this disorder sucks b***s so if anyone knows how to make em grow back that dosent cost like 200dollas please tell me Thank you togather we can stop:-D GO WHATEVER THIS THING IS:-|!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes you can used home made thinga to grow your eyelashes. You can use papaya, rub it over the area min 5 minutes and after wash it out by using cool water. You have to do this twice in a week.

Like everyone on here has said, it is so helpful to know that I am not the only one, and that others struggle with the exact same thing I do. I have been pulling my eyelashes since I was 12, and my eyebrows since I was 16..I'm 19 now. I used to be outgoing and loved talking to people, now I am more shy, I hate eye contact, and my self confidence level has dropped. This "condition" has made me a different person. I was always embarrassed when people would notice and point it out. I used to think it was rude of them, but I understand that they were just curious...because it is something they have never seen before. A year ago I met the love of my life. He loves me for who I am, the way I am. He has been gone for 10 out of 26 month as a missionary to Peru. I get to see him in 5 months for 3 weeks before he returns. I know he is the one I am going to marry. I have always imagined myself having eyelashes and eyebrows for my wedding. I am getting married in 2 years- the summer of 2014, after I graduate college. I would love to surprise him in 5 months with being "cured" from this. I have "stopped" before. I put that word in quotation marks because every time I stopped...I started again. I know what I'm doing, but I haven't been able to stop. Each time saying "this is the last one". I know that I have a long road of recovery ahead of me, and I am ready to begin this journey. TODAY. Right now. I will no longer let myself suffer from a condition that I can't even pronounce. This disease will no longer own me. I will own IT! Tonight I will go to bed and not touch my eyes or my eyebrows. And tomorrow, I will not touch my eyes or my eyelashes. One day at a time.

I thought I was the only one! It actually started with my eyebrows because my "friend" told me something a few years ago about them being really big and me being 11 I really didn't want to ask my mom so I tried pulling them out... Then I had to stop that and eyelashes started.. My mom bought me an eyebrow pencil that doubled as eyeliner when I was in 6th grade and I used it for my eyebrows until the lash thing started and I used it for eyeliner.
I get asked "Do you color you eyebrows in with marker??" or "Do you have eyelashes?" because the ones that grew back are lighter.
I tried to stop and I started using Rimmel lash accelerator and then found Rapid Lash by Promaxyl. My eyelashes grew almost all the way back. I realized not one of my close friends (I'm in high school) wore more makeup then the occasional mascara or eyeshadow. I was wearing eyeliner mascara and eyeshadow. I totally didn't fit in. So I have stopped pulling the eyelashes (still a bit of a problem with eyebrows) and I have cut down on the makeup. The lash accelerator and rapid lash have been working for both the eyebrows and lashes so I would give either one a try but the rapid lash is a lot more costly. I hope you have luck with stopping and that if you try either of the products that they will work :)

I pull my eyelashes out constantly:( mainly when I'm in school and I have a habbit of doing it when I've just put Mascara on.. When I'm wearing Mascara and I pull them out, sometimes I pull like two out at a time. I started like a year ago when my mate was 'picking off her mascara' and she said that she pulls out eyelashes as well when she does it and I started doing it and I just can't stop.. D:

I will tell you I'm a guy...but don't want to say my real name....but I to can't stop pulling out my eyelashes.iv been doing it since the first grade. I remimber the first time I did it bc I was in the school book room and I found a book about bugs and mites.I found a pic of a hair mite and it scared me.I remimber reading a little short line that said,this is a eyelash mite.I got scared and started picking my eyelashes.since I was in first grade I didn't know that those mites were helping your body and eating at bad things that your eyelashes were keeping out your eye.but now I know this and I stl can't stop.I'm now in the 7th grade and I only pick them in school or when I'm really bord and most of the time stressed out.iv stop a lot of time but it alwas catches back up to me.this one time last summer I told my self since I was going to a new school I would stop and no one will know that I picked my eyelashes.but as school started a week or two later I started again AGAIN! I was looking up for ideas how to stop but they never work.me as a christian has asked god for help many times.and he has...god has keep them growing, I just have to do my part and stop picking them!I alwas thought that I was like one of the only people to do this untl now.but now I know tht it is very common for people to do this.I wish you all luck to stop.I'm not here to convert anyones believes but y don't you ask god for help like I did.it worked, he helped..........I just didn't do my part.......I promised him I would stop.......I just feel like I let him down.

Wow!!! I am so surprised about this ! I pull out my eyelashes and eyebrows too ! I dont know why, but I wish i didnt, i still have some left but i put eyeliner on my upper lid so it looks better. This is lovely to see that I am not alone. Hoping I can stop cold turkey. I never knew why i did this.
