I have been on Yaz for about 4 months. I havent had any problems, actually I have had good reactions. I have lost 15 pounds ( I retain alot of water) and Yaz contains a diuretic. My face is clearer now than ever. I do not have cramping and my periods are very light. I am sorry for all of you that have had problems. I have been on many other pills and the patch but this is the best by far.

i've been taking yaz for a month. the side affects i've had haven't been anything major like what i've been hearing. in the first week or so, i'd get pains where my ovaries are every once in a while, and as the month went on i had a stomach ache, some headaches, and for the past two weeks i've been bleeding. i started spotting in the beginning and then i'd get cramps and then it was breakthrough bleeding, and i also felt like peeing every ten minutes.

the bleeding is almost gone now, i get headaches here and there, but i have been very emotional the last couple of weeks. reading these posts is making me a bit scared of what to look forward to in the next few months. what if the moodiness never goes away??? i can't live with that.

YEAH for YAZ!!! I was previously on...Ortho Lo, Ortho Evra, Aviane, and now finally yaz. On the Aviane I felt as though I was going to explode from wieght gain and my hormones were so out of whack I could kill people. My obgyn switched me to Yaz, I have been taking it for 6 weeks and feel so good. I am slowly loosing my weight from the others (20 pounds). And finally, I feel human again. I am 23, so maybe Yaz does have to do with age I am not sure. I would recommend it for anyone with the horrible symptoms of others like I have had.

I just recently started Yaz and I thought I should say that none of those terrible side effects have happen to me. I have actually had less of an appetite, do not feel more emotional or crazy, and absolutely no vision problems. I've heard a lot of great things about Yaz but also some bad. You're going to hear both good and bad about any birth control pill so just remember to take in all sides.

I am a guy and I have been taking this for.....

Just kidding, but my fiancee has recently started taking it and it was given a 3 month supply of samples by her doctor. Early on, she experienced light headedness and dizziness. We have had more issues of emotional stress in these few months than we have had in our relationship. we were going through a move to a different city and blamed it on that, but now we are settled and little things still set her off. I have noticed an increased appetite, but I have been eating a ton as well so that could be my fault. Anyway, does this sound familiar? She has mentioned that she didn't feel well on this med, but I am not about to bring up the other stuff at this moment. Any suggestions? Medically or relationally?

I'm nineteen, in the past month i have had an ruptured ovarian cyst, and my doctor told me to try it to control a horrific weekly period and decrease the chances of getting any more severe cysts. I've been using Yaz, for about a month now, and in my second week of taking it i have seen a major change in the way i act including the following: severe anxiety attacks, sensitivity to light, and migranes that effect my vision and concentration level at work, irritablility, and not to mention major break outs.

It has helped with my periods emmensely, but the other side effects are taking over my every day life, i'm afraid that i'll lose my job over this.

I've been on Yaz for three months and have not noticed any of the psychological symptoms many of you are experiencing. I suffer from MDD, OCD and have lots of anxiety attacks. Since I've started Yaz, a lot of that has cleared. Could be a coincidence, but since I've been of it, people have told me that I seem to be back where I was three months ago...and I've noticed, too. I'm not saying this drug is a cure for those disorders, but maybe since chemically I started out there, the drug had the opposite effect on me? I'm no doctor, so I have no clue if that's actually the case.

I love Yaz. It cleared up my acne, reduced my appetite (which was good since I was pretty overweight and addicted to food. Now, I'm eating the normal amount :-) ). I've been unable to get a refill, so I've not been taking it for the last week. In the past few days, my face has broken out tremendously and I've been constantly eating.

From the looks of it, this drug (like all drugs) has a wide range of side effects that some women get and others don't. I did have the vision problem that the original poster says she has. It got so bad that I need a different Rx for my contacts, but the pros outweigh the cons by so much, so I'm gonna continue taking it. Can't wait to get back on it.

I am doing well on Yaz. I was just switched off of 3 years of Estrostep FE by my doctor and I have been on Yaz for almost one month. I am now at the end of my first pack of pills so I have not had a period yet but I have not spotted at all and I am not experiencing any of my normal PMDD symptoms. I have lost 5 pounds since I am no longer starving all the time like I was on the Estrostep. My breasts intitially were very tender and increased size on the Estrostep and then decreased in size leaving me a full cup size smaller than normal. Now on the Yaz my breasts have returned to my normal cup size without the tenderness and I am hoping they stay that way!! My only complaint is that I am lacking in energy and I am ready for bed at 9:00 every night. I hope this passes after taking it for a few months. I have not experienced any of the other side affects that others have. No headaches, no vision problems, and no stomach problems. I say that if your symptoms are only mild and you do infact suffer from PMDD that you should try to stick with it. I have only been on it for almost a month and I already can feel a relief from my PMDD symptoms and so can my boyfriend and other people around me. Good luck!!
