Yeast infection that causes open sores but sounds alot like herpes.....

I posted in November about the same thing but my results were positive the same with my bf. It sucks especially losing a friend bc of her preception on herpes which is stupid to be honest.

Hey, guys! I just posted a couple of days ago (the 21y/o that had been on vacation), and just wanted to give you guys an update and tell you that there is indeed hope, even when it's at its worst. I was millimeters from emitting myself in the hospital, or cutting everything off. Seriously. Screaming and crying myself to sleep, and going to the bathroom has been my worst nightmare ever. However, saturday a friend of my family, who happens to be a doctor and newly started as a gynecologist took me in. He is SUCH a good doctor, and although he couldn't take the tests he wanted because I was so sore, he found out what the problem is. He said he had never seen anything like it, but it seemed to be a BACTERIAL INFECTION (no yeast infection). He asked what I thought was the cause, and I said I figured it must have been because the guy I slept with was a little too big, and that caused some sores that became infected. He said that was what he thought too. The only test my doctor could take properly was of a little fluid in my vagina, and he checked for what kind of migroorganism in a microscope.He prescribed me something called Metronidazol Actavis, and that killed the bacterias. The first day after I started the meds was the worst, but now it is sooo much better. My sores are almost gone, I can function, peeing still hurts like a mother..... but ofcourse it does, still have some sores. HERE ARE MY TIPS: If you are in desperate need of help like I was, get to the emergency room and get examined, tested and they will probably prescribe you some Xylocain Gel - use that before peeing as well as regular painkillers. Bend down to your knees while peeing (hard to do in a toilet) so if all else fails, just go in the shower. MOST IMPORTANTLY, get to a gynecologist!!! If they have no idea what it is, mention this thread - I did. They will probably have no idea what it is, so they need all the information they can get. GOOD LUCK, LADIES! Hang in there!!

I have a 2pm dr apt today. I have the exact same problem as pretty much everyone on here. Totally thinking it is herpes but actually now I am not as freaked out. I have more of a matter-of-fact attitude now that I have some more information from real people!!! Looking with a mirror for the 1st time was absolutely awful, terrible. I enjoy sex so much and feel like my vagina has gone on strike!!!! I will post back after the doctor. I am going to get STD full panel testing if I could and hopefully leave with some sort of dx. Thanks for all of the great information b/c it's the only thing that is easing my mind now!

This site has really helped me! I have had the exact same issue and it has really gotten me worried. I have been battling yeast infections for 2 years now so when I first felt a little pain the day after having sex with my husband I figured it was another yeast infection and took Yeast Arrest which unfortunately I always have on hand.

I first noticed tge lymph node in my right groin was enlarged and very tender. Within a day the pain got to be so intense that it hurt to sit, stand, and walk. I thought I saw some bumps in the area between my vagina and anus (which I've seen before when I get really bad yeast infections). With the intense pain and bumps getting bigger, I started freaking out. Of course everything on the internet screams herpes so I went to urgent care.

Thankfully when the doctor examined me, the first thing he said was thaf it doesn't look like herpes but probably a yeast infection. He still wanted to test for it though and gave me a prescription for diflucan.
I went home and took that with Yeast Arrest and went to bed. The next morning (today), I woke up feeling fine and had no issues on my hour long commute to work. About an hour into my work day, it started to hurt really bad to sit, stand, walk. I went to the bathroom and saw that the bumps on my vagina were now wide open. I was in tears it hurt so bad.

I left work early and went back to urgent care - luckily the doc I saw yesterday was there today. He said he would be extremely shocked if it was herpes bc it looks nothing like it. He started me on herpes meds though just in case while I wait for the results and gave me numbing ointment and vicodin and found me a gynecologist that I'm going to tomorrow.

I will be showing the gynecologist this website tomorrow. Not quite how I imagined spending Valentine's day!

Went to dr and it's NOT herpes!  It's a type of bacterial vaginosis... set on from a round of antibiotics and yeast infection that just went crazy.  Please do not freak out if this is happening to you.  Just take a breath and go to dr, tell them TRUTH and you will be fine :)

i have too lesions that are so inflammed i have to use steriod cream go back on tuesday.... then maybe a biopsy for vulva cancer ...... so please have this checked ... not many are aware of this cancer

Ok Im freaking out my STD test are negative, I get tested every 6 mths and I had a yeast infection as well go a scrip and I had little cuts and itching, called my DR cause after using the cream for 5 days i got more sores and I went in and she said it looks like it(herpes) I told her I didnt have any bumps and I havent had sex since september. Im literally forcing back the tears, how am i suppose to handle this? I cant its driving me crazy! I need support.

Just my 2 cents, could be too much lye in your bar soap that is burning through your vaginal skin. Try changing soap brands or no soap for a while and see if that helps. (I)

Not yet I just went to the dr. yesterday. she took a sample of the sores and at work and school its the only thing on my mind.

 I was diagnosed with herpes at 16 (I know way to young for sexual activity) Any way I'm now 33 married going on 11 years and know for a fact that my hubby & I are both faithful to each other. I am having the same symptoms you are all describing but I know it's not a herpes out break just by the way it looks and feels as well as the location of the lesions which is at the back opening of my "V" at first I thought it was a yeast infection so I used an OTC 3 day treatment but it didn't go away so I did a second 3 day treatment & that didn't work so I went to my dr. and he checked me and said it wasn't a yeast infection & asked if I had been using any different soaps or detergents and to one by one eliminate the possible culprits. Since I have used several detergents over time I didn't think much about it being any of them so I just thought I scratched myself cleaning after going potty so I cut my nails off which don't even go past the end of my fingers... that didn't work so I started eliminating what the dr said to, My current laundry detergent had dyes in it so I went back to using "All-free and clear" that didn't work so I quit using my bounty liquid fabric sofner that didn't work. I've even changed my toilet paper and still nothing no matter what it stings when urine gets in the lesions and I feel like I'm wiping with rough sand paper. I got a mirror and checked again and I am very red down there and a couple cuts that are side by side have white around them. At this point I'd rather have a full blown herpes outbreak as I know that goes away within 7-21 days and I've been dealing with these mystery lesion now for 2+ months I am at my wits end so Monday I'm going to call my gyn and get another appt. and see if he can figure it out. I am also being treated right now for a double kidney infection and so far the cipro 500mg twice a day isn't fazing the lesions at all. I may see about having him call me in some acyclovir pills & ointment just to see if that works...... at this point I'm ready to sit in a tub of vinegar and hope it kills the bacteria or whatever it is causing these lesions surely it won't be any worse than urine getting into them.

Just an up date got a call about 5 min ago. Everything was clear. I'm assuming that I either had an allergic reaction to something or when I had my yeast infection I scratched more then I thought I did.

external yeast/bacterial infection, I am using the cream that comes with the otc yeast infection medicine with equal amount of prescription estrace ointment all cleared up in less than 3 days! Ahhhhh sweet relief!!!! WV GIRL

Just like everyone else here, I am so damn happy to hear I am not the only one!!! Mine started Tuesday, it was sore & thought I had ingrown hairs down there, because I shave every other day or so & some where on my panty line area. Then I thought they were starting to get infected because they were starting to really hurt & be uncomfortable. By Thursday I was in a lot of pain & started to panic because didn't know what it was anymore, I am married for 2yrs now & been with my husband for 3 1/2 years before that. I started to have a non smelly discharge that was really watery & looked like 1% milk & had a tiny tiny itch off & on that felt like if I had a yeast infection that wasn't normal for me. I was able to get into urgent care on Saturday morning. By then it hurt sooooo bloody bad to pee, take a shower, walk, put clothes on, basically living!!!! I was in tears 24/7, I was so scared because I had so many questions, no answers & the internet was NOT making it any better. I didn't think it was herpes or genital warts because all the pictures didn't look like mine & didn't have any of the symptoms besides the bumps. The bumps were not raised either, they looked like tiny octopuss suctions over time they got worse & now they look red open sores. The doctor did not seem concerned, he took samples & he told me it was vaginitis & that it was very common in women. Basically its a really bad yeast infection & it can lead to other infections as well. I made sure & asked him if it was normal to have such painful sores because I have never heard of that? He said yes its fine & he prescribed me two antibiotics Metronidazole 500mg 3x a day for 7days & Clotrimazole 1% cream for 7days as well. I didn't ask for pain meds like a dumb a** MY BAD!!! My bumps seemed to only be getting worse & more appeared everyday. I was really getting freaked out because the internet says herpes can be dormant for years before they appear so didn't know what the hell to think!! I even asked my husband to come clean if he has anything to hide! BUT then the internet says you'll have an out break withing 2-6wks after contact? My advise is GO TO THE DOCTORS AND ASK MORE THEN ONE DOCTOR!! The internet will put you in cardiac arrest with everything you will find!!! Today is day 4 of taking my antibiotics & it looks like the first day I haven't seen anymore bumps (knock on wood) I am still in pain & I take OTC 4 Ibuprofen (the dr said that's safe because it adds up to 800mg)every 4-6hrs to get me thru life without wanting to jump out the window every second!! As for going pee, lean as forward as you can without falling off the toilet & push the pee out fast. Its a hit & miss, it might be painful & it might not. I still have to wait for my lab results to come back to make sure its not any STD's which I'm still scared about thank you to the internet lol. BUT I did ask google if you can get sores/ulcers with a bad yeast infection & it does say you can so it makes me feel that much better. I would never wish this on my worse enemy & pray that all you ladies get better & never ever have to experiance this again in your lives!! I will keep you guys updated on my lab results.......God bless!
