Like many of you I'm in the exact same boat. I've been in a year long relationship with my boyfriend and were both tested before engaging in sex. I've been super itchy and experiencing an increase in discharge (but not smelly or thick). When I went to itch in the shower I felt a twinge of pain and a bump. After examining with a mirror I found a sore, no white puss. Just an open sore. I went straight to my boyfriend and started balling. I'm freaking out that somehow I contracted herpes. I can't get a doctors appointment until Wednesday and I'm driving myself CRAZY thinking about what I'd do if I got genital herpes. I'm having my fingers crossed that its something curable or even ANYTHING besides herpes. This article helped me be able to start thinking about the other possibilities it might be, but unfortunately the thought of herpes keeps coming back to mind :(
Thank god I'm not alone. I'm sorry for everyones condition as I have the same problem and seriously I think this is the most traumatizing affliction a girl of good morals could experience as my doctor is convinced it's herpes also while I've been with my man for 2 years he's been tested more recently than I and I've never had anything more than a yeast infection even before him. I read every last one of these replies before even signing up to this site. In fact hes as worried as me just not emotional about it... he found this thread while trying to dig up anything other than herpes that would act this way. Last week I was sick with a flu that wouldn't let up and turned into a sinus infection... Saw the doctor on friday and they gave me antibiotics. That night, had sex with my boyfriend and when we were done I felt that telltale pop and sting that told me it was going to burn for a couple days. We were a little rough and I was swollen... call me stupid but he had a gel icepack laying there for his back and I swore it had to have gotten warm enough so I slapped it on. It still froze to me... omg yes i had to peel it off but irritated was the only sensation it didnt hurt at all. The next day he wanted to spoil me since I'd been so sick he ran me a epsom salts bath... that didn't even hurt. 2 more days and i felt the horrid yeast infection itch and tried to treat it ... the cream burned pretty good... more than it may have ever before. Another day goes by and I was in enough pain that I thought well maybe the ice pack took off just enough skin...
I was in so much pain this am I called out of work and around 2 pm my boyfriend convinced me to go see the doctor again. I told them every little embarrassing detail and even though I can say its only the neurotic part of me that thinks theres even a small chance hes cheated she swears its herpes and took that god awful swab of an unopened blister. I go to the pharmacy hanging my head... come home and within an hour and a half and after gallons of physical and emotional pain induced tearshes found this site. Ill know for sure in about 3 days or so .. but now I feel like I can take a breathe and look past the H word. Thank you everyone for sharing and I hope this continues to help other women.... stupid pharmacy manufacturers dont even know what they feed you don't think. Oh ... and I had decided to give a big fat middle finger to those antibiotics before I was finished reading all of these stories. Cross your fingers girls... i'm headed to lidocaine land as of right freakin now.
Geez! I'm so glad i stumbled upon this site. Since Sunday I have had all of the symptoms described here. I have been with the same guy for almost 5 years now. I have suffered from Vulvar Vestibulitis Syndrome for about 4 of those 5 years. About a year ago I was tested for all the STDs out there and it came back clean. Around that time I had gnarly yeast infection but with suppository's cleared up in a few days. After that I was able to have relatively pain free sex up until Sunday. I started feeling acute pain in my vaginal area, but having suffered VVS i just chalked it up to those symptoms. The next day i noticed it was worse so i scoped out the field down there with a mirror and noticed 1 sore that looked ike an ingrown hair. i thought that's what it might be so i thought nothing of it. it will go away, right? aha!...no. the next day it was far worse and i noticed it looked like a what someone in the thread described perfectly, the underpart of an octopus tentacle. i made an appointment with my gyn ASAP but she was on medical leave so i saw the head of the practice instead. he thought it could either be herpes or a some kind of infection. i told him i had never had herpes, that i had been tested over a year ago and it came back clean and that i haven't switched partners and that we're always using condoms, so i wasn't sure how it could be herpes. but he had me freaked and he took that terrible swab of the area and also checked it out under the scope. he said that it looked like herpes but he also saw yeast under the scope. he prescribed me with nysatin, a flagyl, and fluconozole (sp). so as of monday i was using this cocktail. tuesday it had gotten worse and i noticed that there were more sores. at this point sitting, walking, standing were troublesome and forget peeing! some bring me a bullet to bite on! but i did figure out that leaning forward proved beneficial. tuesday also brought on the delight of day one of my period. it's been a real treat, let me tell you. i called him tuesday and said that i had gotten worse and he wanted to see me back in that day. i went in and he said that clinically it looks like herpes. he had sent the culture off already so the results hadn't come back yet. he prescribed me with valacyclovir (generic for valtrex). told me to start taking those, which i have. he said continue the previous regime he laid out as well. he also gave me a few painkillers so i could get a full nights sleep. as of yet, the only thing bringing me relief have been the pain killers. i should receive my results tomorrow. i'm really hoping its not herpes. but this site has given me hope that it isn't! i don't see how it could be. peeing, wiping, even trying to splash water on my vagina in the shower proves extremely painful. i have googled everything i can think of and i've totally freaked myself out. if he tells me that it isn't herpes i will be relieved but still panicked as i will not know what's causing this. hopefully he can give me something else for this condition. or my regular doctor will come back and can fix my life!
thanks for listening and hope everyone finds their relief soon!
I'm not sure if I have the same thing as other people on here, but I'll try explain it anyway incase there are any similarities! I'm 18, still a virgin, and noticed some pain when I wiped after peeing three days ago. It gradually got worse, and so when I got home I got the mirror out and it looked like a cut about the length of my fingernail on the inside of the lip down by the vagina, which I figured must have been from shaving or from my thong rubbing. When I got up the next morning, it was really sore and one side of my, walking hurt, sitting down hurt, and I also had quite a high fever (although I don't know if that is a coincidence as I had quite a bad cold anyway). I started putting an antiseptic cream on, and that seemed to relieve some of the pain but I was still horribly aware of it all the same. By the next morning, either a scab or a pus layer had built up over it, I tried to wipe it off and that hurt like hell, and since then peeing has been hideously painful - when the pee touches it. This morning I thought it was getting better, the swelling had gone down, and it was starting to look more like a sore, but now the pus (or whatever it is) layer is back and I'm starting to get really worried. Is this just some sort of cut? Will it just settle down? Or is it more like what you guys are describing? Should I get it checked out by a doctor? I've never had anything like this before so Ive never had an examination down there and our doctor is a family friend so its kind of unnerving? I don't think its a yeast infection, but as I've never had one I don't really know what it is. Any help you guys could give me would be much appreciated, and my heart goes out to everyone suffering worse than me because even an idea of what this pain is like is hell!
Beth Sweetie I hate to say this but what you have described were my exact symptoms when I was 16 and diagnosed with herpes. I would never wish it on any body!!! Ask for acyclovir cream and or pills it will clear up faster. A herpes out break can last 7-21 days and the first initial outbreaks are the worst but over time the outbreaks nearly go away for the most part but also try ice for as long as you can stand it on a herpes outbreak it will freeze the virus and keep it from spreading as much. If you have pubic hair pull on it to keep you vaginal lips (labia majora) as far from the urine stream as possible or try placing a toilet paper tube between the Labia to protect the sores from the urine. I know how bad it hurts.... It's like get poked with a hot fire poker. My prayers are with you!!! Wv Girl
Sounds like an external yeast infection or you may have scratched yourself wiping and didn't realize it and it has gotten infected. I would definitely see your doctor or you could go to a quick care facility, the ER, or a free clinic.

Beth Sweetie, I hate to say this but what you have described were my exact symptoms when I was 16 and diagnosed with herpes. I am now 33 & I would never wish it on any body!!! Ask for acyclovir cream and or pills it will clear up faster. Herpes can also be spread by oral sex so your man may very well be faithful & had a cold sore on or in his mouth, this is how I got it. A herpes outbreak can last 7-21 days and the first initial outbreaks are the worst but over time the outbreaks nearly go away for the most part... I can't remember the last time I had an outbreak but beware stress can bring on an outbreak... Try ice a ice cube for as long as you can stand it on a herpes outbreak it will freeze the virus and keep it from spreading as much & wetting it first will keep from sticking to your delicate parts. If you have pubic hair pull on it to keep you vaginal lips (labia majora) as far from the urine stream as possible or try placing a toilet paper tube between the Labia to protect the sores from the urine. I know how bad it hurts.... It's like get poked with a hot fire poker. My prayers are with you! WV GIRL
I replied earlier to this thread. Unfortunately, my symptoms did turn out to be herpes. That was absolutely the worst experience Ive had in my entire life. My fiance' had been tested prior to me and shortly after meeting me, he was negative both times. Ive had my PAPs done but never a blood test. For all you girlies out there who say "i have no idea where it came from" Please don't find someone to blame. You/I could have been holding on to this dormant virus for 20 years. I personally could have picked it up when I cut myself on someones drank up beer can ... or it could have been this one dude that Id like to go give shaken baby syndrome to. Either way.... I pray that you girls have someone as awesome as I do. He could absolutely accuse me of cheating ... but he wont.. and he's sticking around... and he took care of me as if he had his own PHD. Be careful ... UTI can easily come with an outbreak. Mine got so bad and my outbreak was so painful that I didn't know it was a UTI. Anyway... small tip... clean cotton tshirts you dont care about ... or buy new ones. cut them up to hand sized... get them good and soaking cold and wet. Use them as a compress/toilet paper and it also definitely helps with cleaning up discharge and mucas after peeing. Use once and toss out. It was a God send thanks to the sweetest woman ever at the pharmacy. Also, right when your feeling your worst pain and want to break something and cry and scream... music ... loud music on head phones.... it will help I promise. <3 for all you girls.
Hi ladies.. I have some of the same things as some of you.. I have a small tender area under my vagina but above my anus. I want to say a sore, but its really more of a swollen area. If it is a "sore", its only one, and very small. It hurts to touch it, but it doesnt burn or hurt when i pee.. doesnt really hurt when i wipe either, maybe just a little(to wipe). only when i examine it and touch on it does it hurt. It doesnt have any fluid in it, and it isnt hard/firm. it isnt a cyst or an ingrown hair i know for a fact. it isnt getting worse or anything, like spreading or getting bigger, just sore/tender. i have looked in the mirrow and it really doesnt look like a blister or a wart or anything like that. But when i stretch the skin out to get a good look at it, it kind of looks like skin was sliced off, almost like a very tiny razor cut. but not a cut, and looks like a dis-figured "8", if that makes sense. but again its very small!! it feels a little better when i put vaseline on it. Im just worried because i am 12 weeks pregnant. and if it is something serious like herpes or something, i will just die!! my man would leave me, he told me so. even though he cheated on me a little over a year ago. i got tested for STD's exactly a year ago today and everything was negative. they havent done one this year yet because my insurance only pays for one once a year. we broke up for 7 months, and although he said he wasnt with anyone in that time, its hard for me to believe him. i have NEVER seen any bumps or anything irregular on or around his penis. but you never know. i have been with him for 6 years, and when we broke up for the 7 months i hooked up with my ex and we had sex. but that was ahile ago and i have never had anything like this before! and if i was to have contracted something from my ex i would have had some sort of symptoms by now, and i havent.. pleae, someone help me!
sounds like you scratched yourself and it is getting irritated. try keeping Vaseline or A&D ointment on it for a a few days if it starts to go away keep using it till its gone, if it doesn't show signs of improvement within 3 days see your gyn. also for added protection try the otc external cream that comes with most yeast infection treatments.

Try Olive Leaf Tincture, for the first four days your candida will clear and you will feel great, then you may get a bad resurgence of itch, sores etc, stick with it, this is the candida die off reaction, drink LOTS of water to flush system through, also milk thistle and when cured after another week of suffering, introduce probiotics, cut out all processed foods and sugars and junk food to stop it coming back.
See a homeopath as doctors will give antibiotics which cause candida in the first place, also been venom capsules are very effective at treating these ilnneses that affect the immune system.
Good Luck

Sorry, I meant BEE VENOM, not been venom Lisa
Thanks everyone! went to the DR yesterday, they did a culture test, it wont be back for a few days. The dr said he doesnt know what it is. he said it could be herpes, and it could not be. he said it doesnt liik like there was ever a blister, theres no cluster, but her did find 2 more smaller sores on the other side. very small and no fluid present, they (two different dr's looked at me) said it looks like someone took a razor blade and sliced my skin off. they said it could be from my pantis rubbing me raw. i asked if i can rule out herpes and they said no.. So i am freaking out right now. i talked top my boyfriend lastnight about it and at first he was being a penis. but then when i came home and told him everything the dr said, like if i contracted something that from everything i told them, that the chances of him giving it to me is very likely. and that if i contracted it on my own from someone else i would hve had some sort of symptom previously. and i havent. also, i get cold sores, have since i was very young, and they said you can spread them even a week before they show up, and not know it. so i dont know. im very upset and scared right now. i cried myself to sleep last night! but my man is gonna stick by me. probably because he realizes that if we have it, its because he got it and gave it to me! but we will see.. i will update everyone when i get the results! thanks again for the advice everyone!
I have been having the same sores as y'all for couple years now.. Was diagnosed w herpes by blood work without ever having an outbreak! Was devistated thought my life was over.. Just hoping my relation w my fiancé of 7 yrs never ends.. Anyway was told by one dr by just looking that it was herpes and have me valtrex... Didn't touch it.. My other gyn said it sounds like a yeast infection try diflucan.. It worked wonders!! So I had an unlimited supply of diflucan but have recently ran out:( need my yearly! I halos have lido gel for the pain but have recently tried Neosporin with pain relief and it works wonders!
