There may not be one single workout for all new moms, but there are definitely some great ones out there that really work.

If you're a mommy for the first time, you may not have realized how tiring having a small child around is. They really need your full attention and care, leaving you little or no time to look after yourself. The best thing you can do for you and baby is to get active. This keeps you healthy and energized, leaving you better able to care for your baby in the long-run.
Finding the right workout for you
-
Mommy and baby classes: If it is impossible to find a sitter, or you really want to spend every moment with the little one, seek out a mommy and baby class. These are in every major city, and is usually a semi formal organization of moms led by a trainer.
-
Crossfit classes: this is the latest and greatest when it comes to high intensity training. Crossfit also has mommy specific classes, and there are crossfit training studios in every major (and minor) city around the world. While crossfit seems intimidating, it has developed its very own culture of fitness fanatics who take pride in achieving strength through simple, basic workouts, without fancy equipment.
-
Private trainer: a fantastic option if you are shy of being out in the open in front of everyone while you puff and pant your way back into your old self. Be sure to check the credentials and experience of a private trainer to find out if they have the knowledge and expertise to work with you. Many trainers will even come to your home, making the experience easier than ever. Train 2 to 3 times per week from the comfort of your home without having to worry about childcare at all!
-
Join a bootcamp: these usually meet weekly, and are full of fun, tough obstacles. The fun part is when you get a training buddy to come along. The best part of bootcamps is the unpredictable nature of them. Each training will be fresh and challenging, and you'll get to know the members of the group well as you make bootcamp a regular part of your exercise.
Getting fit and looking great after you've pushed out your new baby may be tough, but it is not impossible. Getting active sometimes just means getting your foot in the door and getting the ball rolling. Be patient and remember to enjoy yourself as you face each challenge. Remember that the tougher the workouts the quicker the results- yoga is great- but you'll need to add high intensity training combined with good nutrition to change your body.
