I noticed about 4 years ago that my daughter was belching constantly even all through the night in her sleep. She started getting bad stomach aches after that and has had them for years almost every day. I have tried keeping a food diary but can not pinpoint any foods doing this to her. She went to a pediatric gastro. About 3 years ago and had endoscopy and gluten tests and could find nothing. She recently had ultrasound and even though the ultrasound tech. seemed to focus a lot on gallbladder (she even said it hurt when they pressed on the right side) and asked a lot about any history of family gallbladder disease, the doctor looked at a faxed copy of the ultrasound and called to say it looked fine. She has had x-rays which has found nothing. We did food allergy testing and nothing.
Recently, she has gained a lot of weight and says her neck hurts when hungry. We have thyroid problems on both sides of family. She went in for blood test and the first one the doctor said TS4 was a little low but TSH was fine. He ordered another test and the nurse just called back and said everything looked fine. She is always constipated but she takes mirolax everyday. We tried Prevacid for awhile after the first belching instances but that didn’t seem to help.
We would appreciate any ideas or suggestions that you could provide. She is missing so much school and it is really affecting our life.
