From your description, this sounds to me as a case of gynecomastia (enlarged breasts) of puberty.

This happens to 50% of teen age males. It occurs secondary to hormonal disturbances in this age. It usually lasts up to a year and a half to two years. It is inconsequential.

Since it has been persistent for more than two years, it was a good idea on your part to see your doctor. Usually, there is nothing to do except follow-up. Some doctors would check some hormone levels.

Just thought I'd jump in here. I don't think its wise that we are dismissing lumps as nothing to worry about and it'll go away when we can't see or feel them ourselves.

So I'll stand by my usual closing sentence and say: find any lumps, get them checked out.

i have one, i have no clue what it is. it feels like there's a pimple under my nipple

I absolutely agree with KingFreze here.

Get any lump checked out.

That being said, it is not unusual for boys passing through puberty to experience firm breast nipples or a small firm spot under the nipple.

It doesn't mean anything... but it also can be checked out by a doc anyway to confirm!!

the lumps that i know occurs in both breasts and disappears after sometimes. as a man, during your puberty period, you MIGHT discover a swell that is a kind of strong under your nipple. in some occassions, it might be swollen to the extent of looking like that of a ladies' but not to worry, it will disappear, if you give it some time... though is usually painful.

..but if the lump is under one nipple, please I suggest you contact your doc.

thanks

I'm 14 years old and I have only just recently noticed the same kind of lump under my left nipple. I left it for a few weeks then I went and told my dad. He said that it was probably something to do with puberty. As soon as he said this I was so happy, so talk to someone if you're worried. Cheers for all of the advice Guys... :-)

When I was at camp, I (stupidly) dared my friend to give me a really bad titty twister...Well, he did, and now, 4 months after, I have lumps under BOTH nipples. From what I've read, it's caused by trauma, or can just happen naturally. I was pretty darn freaked until I read up on it, and now I'm fine, with occasional pangs of pain when I bump them against something. Thanks for all the help, guys!
