Did bleeding pretty much stop afterwards

I am 47. This happens about every 2-3 periods for maybe the past 2-3 years, and the piece of tissue got larger as time went by. Lots of cramping, and then long 2 inch piece of tissue is expelled. I have noticed a lot of menstrual changes like this. I have irregular cycles now, anywhere from 20-49 days, so its the start of perimenopause. I have not been on birth control pills or any medication for 13 years, husband has a vasectomy, so pregnancy is not possible. This is probably do to the hormonal imbalance.

Hello, I am 13 and I am suffering with very heavy periods, this is which made the doctor put me on the pill. You sound like you may have what just happened to me.
Today, about 30 mins ago a giant clump came out of my vagina. I was been sick with dioreeah before because of these cramps I have. It had been about 3 months since my last period because the doctor told me "do not stop every month for a break on the pill, just take it for 3 months". Because I had been so long without a period I think my lining of my uterous was just praying to get out. Anyway 10 mins after the first sick trait I was trying to get to sleep but the pains were so bad that I couldnt. I lent over the side of my bed and heaved into the sick bowl. I could feel it coming out again. I heaved more this time trying to push it out more. It was stuck. This clump was so big and long that it had actually blocked up my vagina so I had to pull it out. After that I just bled so much that I had to keep changing my towel.

But what I am trying to say is you might have just had your uterous lining coming out all at once because your body had not broken it down.

If I was you I would demand blood test because you might be anemic from the loss of blood ^-^.

This happened to me a few weeks after delivering. My doc said it looked like the same thing the other docs have said: The complete uterine lining. It did baffle all the nurses and the doc who looked at it though, so it must not be that common.

Decidual cast. That's what it is. Google it.

Hello - what these ladies are talking about is not a blood clot. This happened to me today and I examined the tissue and washed the blood off and it is definitely epithelium. I can only assume it's the uterine endothelium that has built up over the time when the birth control prevented menstruation from occurring, and now that I'm off it for one week, all the sloughing of the endometrium occurs at once in big pieces. Definitely not a blood clot.

It is called a 'decidua cast' I have had 3 over the past year and in my case is caused by skipping more than 3 periods in a row.

Recently got done with college Biology II. We were taught the stages of pregnancy and the sizes of fetuses at different stages. A few days would not be long enough for the cells to reach tampon size. I really hope they figure out what happened but it shouldn't be a miscarriage for you.

Google decidual cast. It's where the lining sheds all at once.
