I kind of like the anterior cutaneous nerve entrapment syndrome one poster suggested, but like Spigelian hernia a little more, though I am not an expert, just a fellow sufferer.

Hi - I posted a month ago that my Dr suggested it was Anterior cutaneous nerve entrapment syndrome (ACNES). You can find it on Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anterior_cutaneous_nerve_entrapment_syndrome). Since the treatment, I have felt much better and have not had another episode. The Dr also suggested that what was formerly my 6-pack and has since turned into a half-keg, absolutely caused the pressure that led to it. So, I'm on a semi-fitness kick trying to lose a few inches. Hope that helps.

I’ve been wanting to google why I get the same pain/cramp when I bend down to tie shoes sometimes and came across your post. I actually have been diagnosed with a hiatal hernia and also have issues my esophagus. Looks like this cramp that I get when bending over is tied into my hiatal hernia. Thanks for posting and hope you all find an answer to your issues!

For any of you that had prior surgery, it's probably adhesions. That is what mine is. Google it, bands of tissue that grow after surgery. Not a thing can be done either, the more surgeries the more you can have. :(

After a lot of reading... I am thinking it's splenic flexure syndrome or trapped gas. Similar oroblem here.

I have severe pain when I bend over. The pain is behind/under my left rib cage. It feels like my rib is stabbing or squeezing something. I straighten up very quickly and the pain goes away after about 20-30 seconds. A few times it has last longer and I’ve almost went to the ER because the pain was so bad! Any advise?

Lol. I tell people all the time, you know that Alien movie where that thing comes out of the stomach?, I swear I'm waiting for the same thing to happen to me. Mine has been happening for a while now. Sometimes it's on both sides. But mostly, it's on the right side. It's getting worse by the day. This is crazy that's there's no answer for such problems.

I have the same or very similar symptoms which are occurring much more frequently. I had it scan. X-rays but found nothing although I do have hiatal hernia.

Here is my thought.. I too have this pain when bending over.. it started after my gall bladder was removed.. organs will shift when one is removed.. weight in the upper stomach right under Breast bone is where my pain is.. it will take your breath away bad. When something is removed you feel a shift..

Hi, I read your post from a couple years ago, about the terrible cramping in our upper abodomen when you bend over. I have the same thing and it is getting much worse, now on both sides, and hurts terribly and I am getting nervous. I am wondering if you have found any diagnosis and how you are doing. Best wishes.

I have read so many people have this, there has to be something about it, or maybe it is just from being fat, but it hurts like hell. Please keep posting if you get any updates. I hope you get better. This scares me. I think I am going to try tog et an ultrasound or scan to make sure I don;t have a growth in there. I will keep posting updates as they come. Best of luck to you.
