I too have had my gallbladder removed, though unlike most of you it wasn't due to stones. I have a 3 wk post op visit with the surgeon tomorrow where I will "hopefully" find out what was actually wrong with it other than "it looked abnormal." I have only had diarrhea once since my removal, and I was testing fatty foods at the time so I was not surprised. You will simply just have to find your "triggers." Everyone reacts differently to different foods. So far, only 1 thing out of about 10 different fast food meals has triggered any response and it was a slow response not an eat and then run response. Good luck and don't panic, it takes energy away from the healing.

WOW...I FEEL your pain. I am 49 years old....had my gall bladder removed 2 years ago May. Since then, I have not had a "normal" bowel movement and sometimes even to the point of urgency. I have gained significant weight around my mid section and lost the "cute", as Ive been told, butt that I USE to have. Its EXTREMELY depressing. I started walking 3-4 miles a day and have been doing this for over 4 mths. YES, I have lost weight but my tummy (and spare tire effect) is still there. Don't know if it was due to the gall bladder removal or just my age catching up to me but it certainly started happening just after the removal. If you find anthing that helps out...please let me know. I just wanted to let you know you aren't the ONLY one experiencing this.

What a coincidence! I have had the exact same changes??
I love to eat fish and enjoy standing in a shallow stream and "Swatting at them" as they swim by...
I too suddenly "have No Problem" with my weight either...
But I get a little warm and overheated in all this fur that I have suddenly grown!!

Has anyone considered a nutritional approach to resolving any of these symptoms? My gallbladder was so full it had pushed my liver upward causing severe pain in my chest.
Your system has been building sludge, bacteria and parasites for years (especially if you eat food in the U.S.)These things cause issues with weight management, insomnia, exhaustion and stress on top of the already overwhelming daily stress we all endure from work, family and life in general. All of these only lead to poor health. We only have one body in a lifetime and how we take care of it, treat it and nurture it will determine its path!
If you want to bring your health in line with natural, healthy, un-medicated methods.... check into holy tea, shaklee sutritional supplementation and if you are looking for a Weight Management program that will build better health while reducing body fat consider shaklee's Cinch program.
I was 89 lbs overweight in Jan. 07. Started a Cinch Weigh Management Club in my home from Jan. to August 07and lost 39lbs. and 37 inches. Went from a size 26 pants to size 16. I returned to my program last Thursday night and alot of the bowel symptoms you are describing are beginning to subside for me since I began my healthy lifestyle again. It's easy, fun, healthy and less expensive than drugs and other weight programs on the market. If anyone is interested in any of the above methods, let me know and I will gather the information to send to you. Better Health Leads to Happier, Longer Life!

I have undergone ERCP due to gall bladder stones.  Doctors' have advised me the removal of gall bladder and assured of no side effects.  But you all helped me not getting the Laparascopy done.  Recently I have approached a famous Homeopathy Doctor and explained my complete medical record.  He suggested me the medicine and guaranteed of no stones/no pain for a several years.  The medicine is effective and my recent tests proved that.

Hi I have also had my GB removed 3 years ago. And I am now 23. I have always been overweight but was able to get it down by diet and exsercise. I remained a healthy weight until i had my Gb removed. Ive gained almost twice what I was before. I have literally tried EVERYTHING! i have dieted worked out stopped eating watched what I ate and nothing. Only thing that worked for me was a prescribed medication called Adipex. I lost my insurance so now Im trying to see if my doctor will prescribe it again. I also have sudden urges to have boul movements literally minutes after I start eating. It has its pro and cons. I just dont understand how can i not loose weight when i use the bathroom  every 5 minutes it seems. I feel tired all the time as in lack of energy and im too young for that. Anyone have any advice? Desperate for ideas.

Hi Juliette,Thanks for sharing your information.I have had my gall bladder removed 2 years ago.I havent had any problems after that operation. But lately I have been experiencing a few problems.Like problems going to the toilet because i have been constipated.Yes a little weight around the tummy and hip area, while the rest of my body is absolutely fine.I have also been experiencing Bad breadth even after brushing my teeth.its most embarassing.I have been to the dentist and rest assured its not my teeth. So now I have to go back to meet the Gall Bladder Specialist to do a few more tests to check for any abnormalities inside my tummy.I am keeping my fingers crossed its nothing serious. However following a strict diet could do the trick.

I recently had gallbladder surgery and an ERCP procedure and I am experiencing some post-surgery side effects. When I tried some of my familiar foods at home, I felt the foods I ate became very salty and hard to swallow. I was wondering how long those side effects would last. If anyone has experienced with this issue please reply to my post.

I just had my gall bladder removed on Friday. I am doing pretty well and I don't act like I just had surgery. I have not had a bowl movement yet and I haven't changed my diet. I ate a pork belly cuban sandwich and a snow cone today and I did not get diarhea. I am a little sore from the surgery and I feel a little bloated but it has only been 2 days since my gall bladder was removed. I am taking pain pills for the discomfort and I can't lift anything heavy for a while but that is the only problem I have had since the surgery.
